"Why the hell are you failing your classes?!" Raven didn't even blink when their "father" lifted his hand. "EXPLAIN!"
"Because I don't care enough! Why do you care anyways?! It's not like you cared either, otherwise you would have a job right now instead of drinking alcohol all day at home!!" A loud crash sounded as Raven made contact with the ground, knocking over a vase. Raven's cheek felt like it was on fire. Raven rubbed their cheek, but didn't let out a sound. This was normal for them. Raven would do something wrong, get beat, and get kicked out. Since they just got beat, next was...
"Take your stuff and get the fuck out of my house. I don't want to see you here again anytime soon." Raven stood up and walked over to their room. They grabbed a bag and stuffed clothes and money in it, like they always did.
"Raven? Can I please come in?" Raven smiled. You could always count on Riley to check up on you. Riley was a couple minutes younger than Raven, but it seemed like he was a year older. He was more mature. He was average sized, but people called him short. Raven acted more reckless, and they were quite tall.
"Yeah, close the door." Raven sighed. Riley handed them an ice pack and sighed. Raven looked up from their bag. "Why are you upset? I'm the one getting kicked out." Riley shook his head.
"Exactly. You're getting kicked out. You shouldn't be getting kicked out, you only told the truth." Raven shrugged.
"I mean, with that drunken monster, not even a lie would work." Raven joked. Riley laughed. He gave extra money and clothes to Raven. Raven put them in their bag.
"I guess you're right." He smiled. Raven got up and put the bag on their back. They sighed and patted Riley on the head.
"I'll get you out of this hellhole sooner or later, I promise." They smiled, and opened the window to climb out. Riley smiled and walked back to his room.
