“Whoa, you really made a good friend to hang out with,” Adam said, smiling brightly as soon as they walk out of the car. She smiles back to him, taking his word as a compliment. “I never know that you are such a friendly person,” he says again.
“I never show myself to my own enemy,” she laughs her words out. He laughs too hearing to her answer.
“So, now… you mean, I’m not your enemy anymore?” he asks while placing his arm around his shoulders. She shudders a bit by the electric shock that is conducted from his skin to hers. She blushes, but she tries to cover it.
“No way, you’re always my enemy!” he lightly shoves him away, making his arm to release her. They burst into laughter at each other.
Suddenly, there’s a long pause between them.
…
“Adam, I think it’s getting darker now. Thanks for the treat and… good night. See you soon,” she says, starting to make her way into her house.
See you soon? Till when, Christina? He thought while sending him a smile goodnight. He nods and he knows it is time for him to leave but there’s a voice inside telling him to stop her.
Don’t let her go! Catch her! Catch her!
“Christina,” he calls her, stopping her from closing the fence of the house. She raises her eyebrows, bewildered with his action.
“Yeah?” she waits for his action.
“I’ll send you to your front door. Is it okay?” he walks to her closer.
“Uh, whatever,” she shrugs her shoulders and they walk together to the front door. Her house looks sure luxurious, EXTREMELY luxurious. The exterior design is just enough to make you drool. Adam turns his head around to see how beautiful the way she designs the house. Like, one of the dream houses in a TV program.
While she tries to open the lock of the door, she saw a note sticking on the frame of the door. She takes it and reads it. After reading it, she puts her palms on her face. Her legs start to shake and she just let herself fall on the floor. Adam is quite speechless with her action so he gets down on his knees and grips on her arms.
“Christina, what happens?” he asks, showing a great concern on her. He realizes the note on her hand and reads it.
Get yourself and all your stupid things out before tomorrow morning or I’ll lock you inside!
“Who wrote this? Sounds threatening,” he comments while pouting his lips.
“The… the owner of this house,” she answers slowly, still her palms on her face.
“She’s chasing you out of your own house?” he raises his eyebrows. UNBELIVABLE.
“No, you won’t understand,” she stands up, wiping the tears off her face and strengthens herself.
“Why? Tell me the whole story,” he pleads. “Why she’s chasing you away? Do you have any problem with her? Why won’t you answer me? Answer me, Christina!” he grips on her arm.
“Adam, could you please SHUT UP?!” she looks into his eyes, shooting anger from her blue eyes.
“I won’t till I know why,” Adam crosses his arms across his chest and smile cynically, provoking Christina to answer him. They look into each other eyes, playing with mind games.
A long pause.
“Okay-okay! I give up!” she says, shoving him.
“Yesss!” he shouts in victory.
