We got to the high school, and I immediately saw a long line of people waiting outside of the building. I stepped into the line, and Parker stood right next to me. "You ready for this?" He asked me.

I rolled my eyes. "Of course," I replied. "It's a school dance. All I have to do is stay away from the clumps of people and try to avoid the twerking teens."

"That's impossible. It's a school dance."

I rolled my eyes and stayed silent, continuing to walk forward with the line. I got to the front, where I had to take a sobriety test. Might I say, I passed with flying colors.

We walked in and I looked around at the decor. The theme was Great Gatsby, and the cafeteria was supposed to be decorated to look like the theme. I saw streamers hanging from the entrance, and the handrails were decorated with a pattern that looked an awful lot like-

"Hey, is it just me, or do the handrail decorations look suspiciously similar to some male reproductive organs?" Grayson asked, surveying the scene. I snorted and nodded.

We walked into the scene and I greeted a few people I kind of knew. The music was already way too loud, and there was already a circle of twerking in the middle of the room.

"Well, this is nice," I said, my nose wrinkling in distaste.

I started moving to the beat, actually dancing in a non dirty way. "Come on guys," I urged, "dance with me!"

A few of the people in my group actually did start dancing with me. The others were standing nearby, but it hit me that someone was missing. I looked around, confused, but shrugged it off.

"I got some water," Grayson said, approaching me from behind. He held out a bottle of water to me. I thanked him and took a large sip. It was warm, but it was water so I did not really care.

I danced some more, usually only joining in on the line dances. And let me tell you, I was completely beast at the Macarena.

The next song came on, and I was immediately confused when I heard it was "Chandelier" by Sia. "How the hell does one dance to this?" I asked Parker, who shrugged before running off somewhere.

Suddenly, Grayson came up from behind me and grabbed my shoulders, holding me in place as he screamed the chorus in my ear. "Stop it!" I giggled before shoving him away. He just grabbed me again and continued singing.

I slipped out of his grasp and ran to the other side of the commons. When I got there, I saw Parker being his usual weird self. Aka, he was trying to shove his hand into a popped balloon.

"Um... Parker?" I asked, trying to get his attention. He turned and looked at me.

"What?"

"What are you doing?"

"Isn't it obvious? I'm trying to become a super hero."

I just shook my head and walked back to the rest of the group.

Another song started playing, one that I did not know but had a much better beat for dancing.

I danced with the rest of my group, all of us messing around and just having a generally good time. I was in the middle of dancing when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned to find a guy I had never seen before. "Hey," he said, "I really want to turnup, and it looks like you want to turnup, but I don't want to turnup alone, so do you want to turnup with me?"

I started laughing. I did not really mean to laugh at him because, actually, I was quite flattered that he wanted to dance with me. But, the way he said it just made me laugh. I did not exactly live in the ghetto, but he made it seem like we did.

He walked away, and I hoped I did not wound his pride too much.

A slow song started playing, and everyone quickly ran off to find their significant others. I just went and sat down at one of the few seats available, next to a guy that came in our group named Roger.

"I'm forever alone," I sang along to the tune of the song playing, "and there's no love for me!"

Roger laughed and elbowed me. "C'mon," he said, "you've got some guys that are crazy about you."

I shot him a look. "If I did they would ask me to dance."

Roger shrugged. "Well, I get the feeling that Parker would want to ask you to da- oh."

I followed his eyes to see where he was looking, and what I saw was surprising.

There was Parker, but he was not alone. He was slow dancing with a beautiful girl known as Lily.

Lily was a tall, skinny, and leggy blonde. She was absolutely gorgeous, with bright blue eyes and waist length hair. She was one of the most popular girls in my grade, but she was not typical. She was an athlete and very competitive. She was strong and could beat a person in any sport. She was intelligent with straight A's. The worst part? She was probably the nicest person alive. She would help anyone in need, and a bad word has never slipped out of her mouth. She was the definition of perfection.

I got this feeling in the bottom of my stomach when I saw them, but I ignored it.

"They look really good together," I said to Roger.

He shot me a surprised look. "But they shouldn't be together," he whined. "They're ruining my OTP! It was supposed to be Parkia for life!"

I groaned. "Not you too. Don't tell me you signed Rebecca's petition."

He shrugged. "You're Parker's only chance at a girlfriend, or so I thought." He pointed at Lily.

"Do you know how many people have signed that?" I asked him. He shrugged.

"Well, I would say a hundred or so."

"What?" I squealed. "I don't even think I know that many people! How is that a thing?"

"Well," he said, "a lot of people do know you, but there's two other people involved in this. Most people are signing for you and Parker, some are signing for you and Grayson, and there were about two people who signed for Parker and Grayson."

I groaned. "Whatever."

The song finished, and I watched Parker and Lily pull away from each other. Lily said something to him, and they immediately began to walk somewhere. Roger sniffed and wiped away an imaginary tear. "Did you hear that?" He asked. "That was the sound of the Parkia ship hitting an iceberg. No, it can't sink! I won't let it! I must make my OTP a reality!"

I laughed at him. "You can't force together two people who don't want to date."

"Yes I can. Watch me."

I giggled and stood up. "Well, I'm going to get back to dancing. See you."

He saluted me and I got back to dancing.

The rest of the night was great fun, but Parkerless until we had to leave. He came back and the whole group left to go back to his house, where we just relaxed and played video games. I had fun the whole time, but why did I have a feeling in my stomach that told me I was disappointed?
