Chapter 3

"So, you have to kill me?" Jack said nonchalantly to me.

"I guess so." I shrugged my shoulders as we walked downtown. It was really busy tonight but after all, it is New York.

We were going to grab something to eat after work today. We agreed on a small takeout place. We picked up our food and sat outside on a bench.

"So what do you think of everyone else?" Jack asked me as he took a sip of his drink.

"They're nice. They thought we were a couple though. Melissa and Jasmin told me." I added quietly, trying to see his reaction. I looked up at him but kept my head down so he couldn't tell.

"Oh really?" He asked.

"Yeah," I replied softly.

"What'd you tell them?" I could tell he was trying to make eye contact with me.

"That we were just really good friends," I mumbled. My heart was racing so fast.

"Okay." He said and ate some more of his food.

We were silent for the rest of the night. He dropped me off at my house and I said bye. Once I got in my house and into my room, I screamed into my pillow. I feel like that moment with Jack changed me. I wanted him, so bad. I need to tell him soon. But that might change our dynamic in the movie... I don't know anymore. I took a shower and laid in my bed. I had to be back at our first filming location at 8:00 AM tomorrow. Suddenly, my phone made a notification sound. I checked it and it was from Instagram. It said Jack tagged me in something. I looked and it was a photo dump of us together and some videos that he took of me dancing, walking, and us at work today. I smiled to myself at them. I guess we were gonna act normal now. Act like the moment never happened, got it. After I looked at the post more, I decided to watch some of my favorite show. An hour later, I was getting a million notifications from TikTok. I checked it out and realized people were making edits of me and Jack. Some captions were like,

I was flattered by all the captions and comments. Especially the ones saying I was Jack's girlfriend. Shutting my notifications off, I turned over in bed. My mind was filled with thoughts of Jack. I tried to shut them out but it just got worse. I soon fell into a sort of sleep.

MONTHS LATER, TWO WEEKS BEFORE MOVIE RELEASE
I tried to wake myself up by taking a cold shower. The water rushed down my body and I sighed. Three more weeks till the release of the movie. I had grown so much with the cast and loved seeing them every day. Jack and I especially grew together. Every single day after filming we hung out and got dinner together. And when we weren't filming, we still we together. The cast described us as inseparable. Today was the day I'd have to film the scene of killing him. I felt like it might be a little weird but it's whatever. Plus I had to kiss Mason. I mean It's not the first time I have had to kiss someone in my job. I had to kiss Jonathan Davis for my role as Cleo. We didn't have to do any retakes though which was good. It was just one and done. After my shower, I checked my phone and got dressed. I had to be there at 8 like usual to get in costume. Grabbing my keys and bag, I shut my front door and got into my car. I listened mindlessly to the radio as I drove through the busy New York. Once I got to set, I parked and walked to my trailer.

"Hey, Nora!" Melissa called to me.

"What's up, Issa?" I replied. She ran up to me and gave me a hug

"Ready to film a ton today?" She asked, walking with me to my trailer.
