Oh! And fun fact, Chlo wrote some of chapter two!!! All of this is from her amazing imagination!!! ♥️♥️
Eclair felt his phone vibrate against his leg. He always hated getting calls while he was tending to the museum, especially while he was setting up for the day. At such an early hour too, why would someone be calling him at 6 am?
He reached into his pocket, nearly missing the contact calling him and catching it just before he hung up. His older sibling, Roguefort Cookie. Roguefort was never the type to call someone. They sent texts and letters, calls were reserved for emergencies.
Eclair immediately headed off to his office. Worst case scenario, he'd simply have to open the museum late. He finally answered, being met by crying on the other end.
"Oh thank god you picked up- Eclair- Eclair please I need help-"
That made things even worse. Normally Eclair was the one acting like this, overreacting and becoming a complete mess in a distressing situation. But Roguefort wasn't usually like that. They were confident and composed, Eclair didn't even know the last time they cried since childhood.
"Okay, let's talk this through. Calm down. Try to breathe-"
"Earl Grey got killed"
Silence hung in the air, the only thing preventing complete quiet being filtered sobs. Roguefort continued to beg on the other side of the phone, but their words were barely processed by Eclair. Earl Grey, his youngest sibling, killed.
"Is this some kind of joke? Because if it is, it isn't funny."
"No it isn't. He- He got stabbed in the- in the chest and- And there's blood everywhere- Please I don't know what to do..."
A torrent of thoughts rushed into his head. Did the twins see? How long ago had he been killed? Who killed him? What did he do to deserve to die?
"I'm coming over, call the police while you wait"
Eclair hung up before Roguefort could say anything else. This had to be a joke, a dream, *something*, anything but reality. He didn't even know if he could bring himself to go to the Grandmaster Hotel, not wanting what he'd heard to be confirmed by his own two eyes. But his sibling needed him whether he liked it or not. He rushed out of his office in a surge of panic, making a beeline out of the museum before someone bumped into him.
"Well isn't that convenient! I was just about to give you this ba-"
"Oh, Miss Latte! I deeply apologize in advance and I understand that you most likely have plenty of other things on your schedule but do you mind tending to the museum for the day? You could keep it closed if that's easier but I just need someone to take my spot if that's fine by you."
Concern painted on Latte's face as words spilled from Eclair's mouth. He didn't care or even notice how frantic he seemed. Composure was the least of his concerns at the moment.
