I huffed and threw my phone to the side. "I shouldn't feel like this." I spoke out loud. Not to anyone, just myself. Hanbin and I were friends before I had to go and move to America. Since then we only talked online. When I left I knew I would miss him but I was excited to start a new life. I dreamt of having many friends, going out to places with them, high school just as they'd shown in the movies. It's what they called 'The American Dream' where everyone was equal and you could achieve your dreams. Except..it wasn't like that. Maybe for some it is. But not for me.

I made a few friends but most of the time I was asleep or distracted texting hanbin. Being in completely different time zones was difficult. I would stay up till 2AM sometimes just for him. At some point I had realized how quickly I was falling for him. I didn't want to believe it. I mean, we're bestfriends so wanting to talk to him 24/7 is normal right? But then it turned into wanting his attention. Getting jealous when he talked about other people. Or even feeling butterflies when his notification popped up.

I looked at my phone once again. ⑴ 𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘣𝘪𝘯. It's already 11:23 in the afternoon. I should sleep. I put my phone down and turned the other way. Damn it. I turned right back and opened the message. What if it's important??
