🐾Tris POV🐾
No one left this year. Surprisingly. We do have 13 transfers. Not surprising. Of all factions we get the most transfers. We also lose the most due to our rankings. We run down the stairs. I love this feeling. Uriah runs in front of me. I run a little faster and jump on his back. He carries me to the train tracks. Just as we get there the train turns the corner. He sets me down and we start running. The transfers struggle to keep up but every dauntless born sticks together. Other than our clothing that's how you tell us apart. I grab the handle on the train car. I pull myself in. Uriah gets in after me. He hugs me. Surprised I hug him back. "I was so worried you'd leave," he whispers. "I know I was too," I say. I pull back and smile. "Now come on Uriah, we get to scare the shit out of the newbies," I say looking at the transfers. He grins. "This is going to be fun," he says. "So what shall I do to "fall" off the ledge?" I ask him. Every year Max asks who's going to jump first. Usually me and Uriah are on the roof with him waiting for the initiates but this year we will be with them. And well, ill still be jumping first. Sometimes i jump and sometimes Uriah "pushes" me. But this year I want to do something else. "I don't know," he says "I think I'm going to fall," I say. He smirks. I look out the doorway. The building is in view. I look at Uriah wait a few seconds look back out and jump. I land on the roof and run to the ledge. I sit down on it. Max laughs at me. I smile. It takes a few minutes for the transfers to recover from the jump. Max gets impatient. "Alright if you want to enter dauntless this is your only way in" "uh no it's not," I say. "Seriously?" He asks looking at me. I shrug. "Every year It's the same speech same jump same everything, why do you guys never change it up a little?" I ask max straightens "I thought that's what you and Uriah are here for," He says "well played," I say he sighs and looks back at the group. "Now who's going first?" He asks "Max really you have to ask that question," I say everyone looks at me, I smirk shift my weight back then I'm falling. I shriek a little. I feel the net wrap around my body. I smile. The net is pulled down and I fall into the arms of my brothers best friend. Four. He smiles "first jumper Tris," he yells "not surprised to see you first," he says this time softer. I laugh and he sets me down. "Uriah should be screaming right about," a girly scream "now," I say. Four laughs. Uriah climbs out of the net without help. "Uriah I can't count how many times we've done that and yet you still scream like a girl." "Shut up," he says I laugh.
"Second jumper Uriah, once again big surprise there," four says. Then there's another yell.
Me and Uriah stand talking until all the initiates are on the ground. We gather in a giant group. There are 13 transfers and 15 dauntless borns including me. That's 28 of us total. Only 20 of us can make it. So 8 of us will be factionless in 9 weeks. I look at Uriah as four starts to talk but stops as the door opens. It's Zeke. "Sorry I'm late," he says I didn't even notice he wasn't at the ceremony, he sees me and Uriah when he walks past us. He stops and kisses my temple and punches Uriah's arm. "I got caught up in the control room. But here ya go," he hands four something in an envelope. "Thanks now get out of here," four says. "Okay now dauntless born head down the the dining hall. I'm pretty sure you guys don't need a tour," he says. I run and catch up to Zeke and hop on his back. He starts running down the hall to the dining hall.
