My friend Corey is coming over this weekend. I'm a little nervous about it because this is the first time I've had a guy come over to my house. I roll out of bed and start getting dressed.
''What will he want to do? Is he going to be rude? Are my parents going to like him and let him come over again? Should I tell him about my power?'' Thoughts race through my mind like a hurricane. As I'm getting ready I hear my phone go off. I look down at it and see I got a text from Corey.
''Hey Miranda I'm getting in the car and heading to your place. Be there in 10.''
''Great! I'm not even half ready yet!'' I say to myself now rushing to the bathroom to finish getting ready. As I get down stairs I hear a car door shut and Corey's voice. I run outside onto my deck were I meet Corey and his mom. I thank her for bringing him and she drives off.
''So what ya wanna do?'' I ask him as we walk inside.
''I don't know.'' He says. We sit down on my couch and watch you tube together for a while.
''Soooo what cha wanna do next?'' I ask Corey after we are done. ''We could go on the trampoline.'' I say excitedly. He shakes his head yes.
After bouncing for a while and talking ,we head to my gravle pit and start walking around. We talk as we are walking up to a hill I like to sit at. You can see a beautiful view over my pond surrounded by a field. We sit down and start to talk some more. When Corey asks me a question.
''Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be in one of those romantic movie scenes?'' I'm surprised my the question. Not knowing what to say I just shake my head yes. I didn't know he liked me like that.
After thinking about it a bit I realize we have been talking on the phone a lot lately. We also have really long conversations about random stuff. But I thought he liked a different girl from my school. Her name is Tajia. I personally don't like her at all.
She starts a lot of drama and I get cought up in some of it because she gets I'm my business and I return the favor.
''What would you do if I put my arm around you?''
"Wait... what?" I ask a little embarrassed but kinda glad that he thought about it.
"It was just a question... you know like... hypothetical." he says kind of quickly.
"Well... I would probably just let you and... maybe lean in to it." I say to him blushing. We both sat there and just looked at the pond for a little while and talked. We started picking wood tics off of us like they were raining from the sky so we decided to move. We sit down at a small dirt pile with a scoop taken out of it from the rain.
We talk some more and laugh. We start asking questions back and forth finding out more about each other as we go. We start gradually getting closer to each other and start talking about stuff like dating and relashonships. I kind of want to tell him about my powers.
''I wanna put my arm around you, but I don't really know how to approach it.'' I smile and blush at him saying this. I slide next to him slowly. He starts moving his arm up ever so slightly... And we turn our heads to the sound of a vehical.
Soon my mom comes by on the lawn mower checking in on us to make sure we are ok. I stand up and start talking to her. Corey does the same... Well not the talking part. My mom drives off and we start walking back slowly behind her.
After she is out of site we start talking again.
''Well that was fun.'' I say sarcastically.
''You don't think it was fun? I had a great time talking to you.''
''Well... yeah... That part was fun but...'' I don't need to say more for him to know what I am talking about.
''I wish I wasn't afraid to do it.'' He says putting his hands in his pockets and looking down. I nudge him with my elbow and smile at him. We get to the house and sit down on the couch again. I wanna get another chance for him to put his arm around me, or at least hold my hand.
''Wanna go in my hot tub?'' I ask with a smile.
''Uh... Sure.'' He says getting up to grab his swim trunks. I stand up to grab my swim suit as well...
