Zoe's POV
The icy wind grazed my face as I walked along the frozen beach with my hand entwined with my Alfie and my child, Tanya Elizabeth Hermione Deyes. It was winter and we all were layered in coats. Yesterday was Tans 8th Birthday and she is very mature for her age. Yes, it had been nearly 9 years. I was now 31 and Alfie 28 and we were proud parents expecting our 2nd child within a month. Our chilling walk was wrapped thoughtfully in silence.
"Alfie , I'm getting cold!"
"So am I little one, Tan lets go home and get a hot chocolate shall we?"
Alfie was always so sweet to Tan.
"Sure Dad!"
We all walked back to the car and soon arrived home, anticipating the thought of the hot cocoa on our lips. We sipped on our beverages and had a little chat. Tan was in her room drawing or something. Alfie and I chatted like the 21 and 24 year olds we once were laughing back on the old times we had, secretly liking each other.
Alfie came over to the couch to sit with the baby and I. We put on Lady and the Tramp and cuddled with Tanya sitting on one of the chairs near us. I was starting to fall asleep in Alfie's arms just like old times sake. Alfie kissed my forehead and whispered in my ear 'Sleep little one.'
As I took a sleepy gaze over at Tan she had fallen asleep aswell.
'Goodnight Alfie '
'Goodnight Little one.'
Me.
His little one.
Forever and always.
The thought of that comforted me and as I drifted off to sleep, I whispered to him,
"I need you, idiot."
