I waited inside a local burger shop for Ethan while he was attending some important phone call.
"Your order , mam?"
The woman asked me while I pointed towards Ethan.
"After he comes."
The woman left not before telling me how tasty their signature burger was. Soon Ethan entered and sat infront of me. Was I really out on a date with my 'Boyfriend?'
"I'm hungry, Eth!"
I whined.
"I know baby, just wait till I order for you."
He caressed my cheek with his thumb while I felt some huge scenario happening inside my tummy.
Was it a butterfly? Or a monkey?
Things felt so weird while I re-thought the situation. Ethan, was now my boyfriend. Out of all those pretty girls, he chose me?
I received some scold after asking him the same thing for the third time. I was helpless too, I needed reassurance. Ethan's phone lit up once again with a phone call and he looked a bit...annoyed?
"Come, get in the car."
"Where are we goi--"
I shut my mouth when I realised Ethan didn't like it when someone questioned his moves. I wanted to be his perfect girlfriend.
Ethan's phone was continuously chirping in his pocket. I couldn't help but peek tryna know what was happening. Apparantly he didn't care about that and continued texting whoever was on the other side.
After having a whole silent trip, we finally reached our unknown destination which was called , "Child Care Hospital".
"Why-"
As always, Ethan pulled me with him inside the hospital not letting me complete my question.
"Wait here."
My face got m ore serious as I stood before an operation theatre. What the fuck was going on?
I couldn't find an answer to my question as Ethan was nowhere near me.
After what took more than 5 minutes, I watched Ethan come out of a room with an aged doctor by his side.
"I know you're busy but can I atleast know who's inside?"
I finally spoke up.
"Honey I know this shit is frustrating but we gotta stay."
I felt a pit inside me as I heard him naming the hospital situation 'shit'.
We waited 1 more hour when the lights of the OT finally got off.
The doctor came out and smiled at Ethan saying the operation was done while Ethan asked,
"She's alive right?"
I felt some weird feelings inside me. Who was our patient again?
What can be worse than facing a shit heartbreak. However, good day hons.
