He almost hadn't made it back. He hadn't known how he woud've faced anyone, especially you. He'd given in to the darkness and become a monster who had done so many horrible things and for some reason, he was afraid of how you would react. He didn't know why but there was something at the back of his mind that was telling him you'd be very dissappointed in him. That, you wouldn't forgive him. But Sora had reassured him that everything would be fine.

Sora had been right. For the last couple of hours since they'd arrived you were acting pretty normal.  Maybe a little bit more flustered than usual, but pretty normal. Riku was currently sitting alone on one of the benches that had been brought out with the tables, for dinner. You were a bit farther away laughing with Sora, Donald, and Goofy. Riku hadn't realized he was staring in your direction until he heard Kairi clearing off the table.

"She stood there with me everyday, you know," Kairi smiled at Riku,"waiting for you and Sora."

"Everyday?" Riku turned to look at Kairi as she sat down next to him.

"Mmhmm."

"That makes it even more difficult for me to explain myself to her," Riku looked down at his feet.

"Riku, you're being too hard on yourself. Everyone makes mistakes, we all slip up every now and then. That's why we have our friends right beside us, to forgive us and to support us as we move on and learn from our mistakes. I understood, Sora understood, and I know that even if no one else understood, (Name) would be the one to understand," Kairi took Riku's hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze as she stood up and went to clean the other table.

Riku knew what Kairi said was true, but for some reason the little voice in his head told him otherwise. There was something nagging his mind but he couldn't tell what it was. Riku looked up to see that King Mickey, Donald, and Goofy were getting ready to leave. He stood up and walked over to the group. They had all finished exchanging goodbyes.

"Riku, I knew you would pull through, " Mickey said, "so, until we meet again, I just want you to remember that your light is much too bright to be put out by the darkness."

With that said, the trio proceeded to leave. Sora and Kairi walked farther down the shore and sat down in the sand together.

"Come on, let's go to the treehouse," Riku said, grabbing your hand and pulling you along.
