!*Leah*!

After he cut the pizzas we sat down in the living room to eat.

"So, what's new, my brother?" I said trying to act cool and failing miserably.

He stifled a laugh.

"Well, other than the fact that we work together, and that after all these years I finally met you again, nothing really." he said between bites of pizza.

I nodded.

I can't believe after all this time I finally met my best friend again. I know, how can he still be my best friend after not seeing each other for years? Well being that we are still completely comfortable around each other and can always act like ourselves, I'd say somehow we still managed.

"Leah?" Spencer asked worriedly.

"Hmm?" I replied

"I asked you if you were okay, you looked out of it."

"Oh, sorry, I'm just thinking." I answered while taking another bite of pizza.

"What are you thinking about?" He asked.

"Us."

"What about us?"

"That it's crazy how we still managed to be really close, even after not seeing each other for a really long time." I replied.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"So, what made you want to study criminology?" I asked.
"I want to be able to stop people from hurting others like what happened to you and I."
"Me too."
He nodded, then looked down at the floor.
 There was an awkward silence that I didn't know how to break. That was when he caught my eyes. We stared into each other's eyes for what seemed like forever. I didn't know what to say or what to do.
He finally broke our moment by looking away and fake coughing.
"So how was the pizza?" He asked.
I laughed.
"What?" he asked worriedly.
"I just think it's funny that we haven't seen each other in so long and you ask me how the pizza tasted." I said, still laughing.
"Oh," he said looking embarrassed.
" I have an idea,"
He looked up at me. "Yes?" he asked.
"What about 20 questions? It will help us get to know each other better."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Okay, I'll ask first." Spencer said.

"Shoot."

"What's your favorite color?" he asked with a smirk.

"Sooooo predictable...anyways... It's red. What about you?"

"Mine is red as well. Your turn."

"Okay, hmm....What's your favorite thing to do?" I asked.

He sat there pondering the question.

"Well it was hanging out at the library reading books and such, but I think I'm going to change it to spending time with you."

Okay I officially died when he said that. I didn't literally die, I just felt like throwing up because that was so cute.

"You're just saying that. You probably feel bad because we haven't seen each other in forever and you want to make up for it."

"You know what I hate the most?" he asked with an edginess to his voice.

I just looked at him, shocked.

"When I say something nice to someone and they don't believe me. Can't you just take a compliment without second guessing me?"

"I don't want you to think I have self esteem issues when I don't, it's just you've been out of my life for how long? And even though you're amazing I feel like something bad is going to happen because every time something good happens, something bad always happens to ruin it. It's better if I don't let your words take hold that way when you leave me it won't hurt so much."

He looked at me with a shocked expression.

"How can anyone leave someone like you by choice?"

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"I would never be able to leave you by choice Leah. I was forced to leave you once and I'm sure not doing it again." He said matter-of-factly.

At this point I had tears rolling down my cheeks. I ran up to him and hugged him for so long I didn't think I would be able to let go.

"Thank you so much. I needed to hear that." I whispered.

"Okay, but I also need you to believe it." He said turning my head so he can be sure I understand him.

"Trust me, I do." I said still not letting go of him.

Then all of a sudden he takes my face into his hands and presses his lips against mine.
