4: New You

It was Sunday. You woke up early, seeing the beautiful pink sunrise. You figured you might as well start your day now. Wandering the castle was fun for you, and would be more satisfying than going back to sleep. Getting out of bed, you put on your newly tailored clothes as well as all the new stuff you got yesterday. When you were satisfied, you set off on your journey to nowhere in particular.

Your aimless travel brought you to the staircase in front of the Charms classroom. As you climbed up the steps, you heard meowing. You thought nothing of it, as there were always cats in the sitting area by the stairs leading to the Astronomy Tower. But as you walked closer, you could hear a certain jingling sound and talking.

"You'll have to do better than that!" The voice was all too familiar. As you rounded the corner, you saw Sebastian, using Wingardium Leviosa on a cat toy to play with the many cats that hung around the area. Cute.

They were all chasing it in unison as he jerked it out of their reach at the last second. You couldn't help but giggle at the sight, giving away your location.

Sebastian turned around to see you. His eyes widened at your improved look, and if he didn't catch himself at the last second, his jaw would have dropped. He looked away almost immediately to hide his face. You couldn't see his blush from afar, and figured he was looking away because he was still upset at you.

"Good mor-" he started, but he was cut off by you,

"I'm sorry, Sebastian." you said genuinely, "Natty, Poppy, and Imelda invited me to Hogsmeade, and I..I really didn't mean to forget about the plans we made. I hope you can forgive me."

You looked at him, eager for any sort of response, but Sebastian stared at you, taken aback.

"You went with.. Natty, Poppy, and Imelda," he repeated, a slight smile appearing on his face as if it was the best news he had heard in weeks. In all honesty, it was. You didn't abandon him for your (apparent) boyfriend, you had just forgetfully made plans with your friends for the same time. He was almost ecstatic, but then he remembered that even if you didn't ditch him for your boyfriend, you still had one. The smile dropped. He felt himself getting angry all over again, but when he looked at your face and saw it was full of genuine worry, his heart melted. It was then that he realized that from your perspective, he was seemingly angry over you missing his 'piano lesson', something completely insignificant. And yet here you still were, apologizing to him. He immediately felt terrible for lashing out yesterday.

"It's really me who should be apologizing. I let my emotions get the best of me the other day, and I.. ended up taking it out on you." he said, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "I'm sorry, Y/N. I never should have done that," he said quietly. He was reconsidering what he was about to do before he gave in and pulled you in for a hug, your head pressed against his chest.

Your stomach exploded with butterflies at the sudden bold action. It was a relief he couldn't see your face, because you were sure it was super red. Little did you know, the same was true for him. You noticed how muscular his arms were. His embrace was firm, yet gentle, as if you were made of porcelain and he was trying not to break you. You could feel the sturdiness of his frame when you were pressed against him. Slowly, you brought your hands up to his back, returning the hug. Sebastian stiffened at the touch of your delicate hands and reluctantly broke away. The two of you immediately looked to the side, avoiding each other's eyes.

"A-Apology accepted," you said with a woozy smile. "Do you want to have a lesson tonight?"

"Sorry, but I'm afraid I can't. Ominis and I have got to finish a project that's due tomorrow. You know how he is." said Sebastian, silently cursing his past self for putting off the project for so long. "I can't do tomorrow either, Professor Weasley's got me for an errand... Is Tuesday night good?"
