Taehyung sighed under his breath as he stepped through the forest, his daughter in his arms. "We're almost home baby," he mentioned quietly, rubbing her back as she was sniffling, on the verge of tears. He wasn't quite sure why, but she was upset, and he felt awful he didn't know how to help her.
"I want my mama," she whimpered out, a few tears streaming down her cheeks and Taehyung frowned, "what's wrong Taegguk?" She shook her head again, sniffling. Thankfully it's only a few minutes before they will reach their cabin. "Can you tell me what's wrong?" Taegguk shook her head, wiping her eyes with her little hands before putting her face against her father's neck and remaining there until they got home. It was only a two more minute walk until they reached the cabin and Taehyung walked inside, locking the door behind them before going to find the omega.
"Hey Ggukkie... are you here?" They omega appeared from around the corner that leads to the hallway, "hey there, what's up?" Jeongguk's eyes trailed down to the distressed pup and his eyes widened and he came up to the two, "oh my, what's wrong little one?" He took Taegguk from the alpha and held her and she begun to cry, leaving the two others quite confused. "What happened?" Taehyung shook his head swiftly, "I don't know, nothing honestly from what I can know. Nothing happened when we went out, I carried her on the way back."
The omega frowned and took them over to the couch and he sat down, "what's wrong baby Tae?" His daughter begun to cry about hearing something. "What was that Taegguk?" The little alpha sniffled and wiped her eyes, "m...mean stuff." She responded quietly, laying her head on her mamas chest and neither of the others pressed on, Jeongguk's eyes widening as he understood perfectly—"she's talking about the way your minds connect." "What do you mean?" Jeongguk sighed under his breath as he gently rocked her a bit, noticing how she had stopped crying and was falling asleep now. Jeongguk shook his head, "your mind linking. Maybe it wasn't you her mind linked to... maybe it was somebody else-" "-who else could it of possibly been?" The omega bit his bottom lip and didn't respond, remaining silent as the pup had finally fallen asleep.
"Is there something you're not telling me?" The other shook his head slowly, "no, but I do know it's quite the possibility she heard a conversation from another alpha..." Taehyung knew it was most likely true. This was honestly the only thing that would make sense for her crying outburst. "I think it's best if you sit her down and explain it to her." "Explain what? Mind linking?" The omega shook his head, his lips pursing as he thought about what to say—"no... about your... about the packs leaders." The elder opened his mouth to respond but had to close it, unable to speak as he knew the omega was right, but it seemed as if Taegguk was far too young, which was true for the most part. However, she does need to know, and she needs to understand why her parents are more then protective of her.
"When she wakes up, come tell me. I'll take her down to the lake and I'll explain it there... it might be best if it's just the two of us. No offense." The omega quietly chuckled before standing up slowly, Taegguk asleep against him still, "none taken." With that, he left, bringing the pup to his bedroom and gently laying her on the bed beside Laia who was still quite asleep too, not having woken up yet because it's only 9am and Jeongguk didn't see a reason for her to need to be awake yet.
The omega reappeared after a couple of minutes being gone, noticing the alpha was sitting uncomfortably and Jeongguk sighed, sitting next to him, "it isn't your fault they're that way, Taehyung... it isn't hers, either. Both of you are mistreated by them. Nobody can help that, but what you can do is help her before there's a situation where there might be a problem and you and I have to resolve it." The alpha chewed on his bottom lip a bit, cutting it a bit with his canines but not enough to notice nor care. It took a minute for him to respond—"I feel like such a jerk, Jeongguk... she doesn't deserve this. She didn't deserve to be born into a world where her grandparents are doing everything in their power to... you get it. It's not fair." The omega leaned back a bit, "that's true, but listen... she's happy, she is okay. We did this, we both brought her into this world, and I know we will both do our absolutely damndest to keep her safe. We would give our life for our pups, we both know that."
