You were walking back to your home, satisfied that you sold out of charcoal and made some good cash. "(Y/N)!" You turned around to see an old man calling your name. "Yes, sir?" you called. Your mother had always told you not to talk to strangers, but your sense of kindness just made you needing to help others.
"Come, please rest in my house. It's night after all the demons may come." "Oh no, I couldn't possibly, my house is just a bit more north up the mountain." You called after him.
He didn't try to stop you oddly enough. You thought nothing of it continued up the mountain.
A few hours later, you made it up the mountain and looked at your house. You freezed right in your tracks at the horror of your eyes, Doma was covering Aella in a blood puddle. You ran to the house desperately and saw your dad covering Sakura.
You started to cry and ran over to Doma. "A pulse!" you thought to yourself. "I can get him to a doctor! There's still time!" You ran down the mountain carrying Doma on your back. He was heavy, but you were determined.
Suddenly, you heard a growling sound and you fell off the path and into a snowbank. Just then, you saw someone running at a rapid speed towards you and Doma. They had a sword too! The person swung their sword towards Doma, but Doma pushed you out of the way and dived towards you.
"Excuse me, miss, but that right there you're protecting is a demon. You should get away from it before you get hurt." The person was a female with 2 butterfly pins on each side of her hair.
"T-this demon is my best friend! He still has a pulse so I need to get him to a doctor to get him back to being a human!" you exclaimed, panicking that you would run out of time.
"Oh no, I'm so sorry for you darling." The girl called. "Wha-, what are you talking about?" You were so confused and Doma needed a doctor, stat. "A demon, once transformed, cannot be transformed back to a human." The girl said sadly, even though she wasn't.
"You'r- you're lying!" you yelled. Impossible, it was impossible! Doma could be a human again, right? "I'm afraid I'm not. Don't worry! I'll use a breathing form so when I decapitate him, it won't hurt him." The girl called once again.
"Please, give him a chance! Doma has been my best friend for over 10 years! He has never hurt a single person or animal. I doubt he would eat a human let alone hurt one." you called out, desperately trying to get the girl to spare Doma's life.
"10 years huh? You must be great friends... Are you sure you two aren't an item?" You blushed at the statement. "Wha-? No!" "I'm only kidding dear. My name is Kanae Kocho and if you can prove yourself, you may become my tsuguko.
