Within the Woods ~A Zodiac Story~

CHAPTER 1: The Start

The breeze was soft and refreshing on scorpio's walk to work from school. The day was blue with the occasional drizzle falling from the overcast sky. Scorpio was so done with the day and ready to finally surround herself with love and light within the safety of her mothers occult shop.

A little bell rang above her head as scorpio lightly pushed open the doors to "Wonders and Oddities", her second home.

"Scorpy!! Thank goodness you're here! I've just finished some fresh spell jars that I'd like you to restock while i'm with my client." her mother said, peaking her head out of the back room of the shop after hearing the bell. Scorpio's mother was not only a witch, but, she could read auras, cards, and crystal balls for those seeking the path to their truth.

"Sure thing mom! What kind of session are you having tonight?" Scorpio asked curiously. She had always wanted to do the things her mother does for others, but she was too scared to be wrong or judged after her readings to even give it a try.

"Oh well its a little bit out of the usual than normal, but a young girl wanted to come in and talk to me about some strange happenings and dreams shes noticed lately."
Just as she said so, a short girl with long brown hair and big brown eyes shyly opened the door.

"Uhm, hi. I'm here to talk with Celeste?" She spoke quietly, staring anywhere but at our faces.

Angry looks came from all angles as Pisces slurped at the bottom of her milkshake with a big fat bendy straw.

"Can you stop with that already? Its empty bitch, I'll buy you a knew one" Capricorn rolled her eyes. Pisces smirked and happily accepted the other, promising to end the slurping. Cancer was face deep in his double cheese burger while the girls began to gossip about the incident they saw in the news paper. Reporters are said to have seen some unusually viscous death scenes in the woods lately. Big, dead animals with unique scars all over.

Cancer, Pisces, and Capricorn were having their usual after school dinner that they met up for almost every Wednesday since middle school. Cancer got his regular double cheese burger with a basket of hot fries while Pisces had her chocolate milkshake with chicken tenders and fries. Capricorn had a big turkey sandwich with a side salad.
"What do you guys think about those animals people have been finding? Those are really weird scratches." Pisces asked the group.

"Well, knowing how deep our woods are, i bet there are some wolves coming out for some east prey." Capricorn said before taking another bite of her sandwich.

"Honestly, I have to disagree. I think something weird is going on and I don't trust it. I don't think some wolves just started coming out of know where and even if they did, I don't think they would be doing THAT to their food." Cancer shook his head with concern.

"I think you guys should stay away from those woods for a bit while this gets figured out. That means you two better stay out of the spot." He glared at the girls.

The "spot" as Cancer called it is a really pretty spot in the woods that the three of them and some other childhood friends spiced up in the woods. The spot is a big smooth flat rock under a canopy of trees that lets different patterns of sunlight in and blocks the usual sprinkle of rain.

"Cancer please, we're gonna be fine. I'm telling you its just animal nature. You can't keep me from my home." Capricorn turned her head dramatically.

"I don't know Cap. This is pretty weird. What if your that big wolves next meal? I really don't think you should be going near the woods." Pisces gave Capricorn her big pouty face with puppy eyes. Pisces loved her friends, and the thought of Capricorn being next on the news with those weird scars horrified her.
