Orla woke up to Ivy jumping at the foot of the bed. Unsurprisingly Ivy had woken them up at eight instead of the usual five in the morning on other Christmases. "Mammy." Ivy whined. "I'm getting up sweetheart, Have you opened your stocking yet?" Orla asked her. Ivy nodded which caused Orla to chuckle.
"Let's wait for Daddy to get up and then we can go downstairs." Orla told her daughter which resulted in Ivy diving on top of Paul. "Iv." Orla yelped in shock. Ivy turned to her mother "I'm waking him." She replied simply with a small smile.
"Iv he'll be grumpy if he's winded awake." Orla warned her. Ivy shrugged and began shaking him instead. After a few moments Paul began stirring and pressed his eyes together before opening them. "Daddy it's Christmas!" Ivy squealed. "Morning." He replied gruffly still not fully awake. "I'm going to get changed." Orla told Paul who nodded with understanding.
Ivy had opened all her presents within twenty minutes as everyone else watched, within an hour everyone had opened their gifts, Orla had taken photos of Ivy when they arrived downstairs as her mother had always done with her.
While waiting for lunch she went on her phone.

Once they had eaten their lunch and watched a Christmas Movie Orla's phone began ringing after excusing herself she went to the back garden and answered it. She was met with her eldest brother on the other side.
"Are you fucking serious?" He yelled. "Hello to you too." Orla sighed "The fuck's the matter with you."Her brother exclaimed "Me? Ryan I can't deal with your fucking bullshit today, I'm going to spend Christmas with my daughter and her family." Orla told her brother sharply.
"What about your family? hm" He retorted "You're such a dick, you kicked me out of your house after having an argument with me for no good reason, and what do you expect from me? You don't talk to me, I'm not going to talk to you especially after all the fucking shit you said to me." Orla fumed "You're unbelievable Orla." He barked "Fuck off Ryan." Orla shouted to her phone before hanging up and groaning, giving herself a moment to recuperate before going back inside as if nothing had happened. She noticed Ivy was gone, then Paul's parents. She looked around and Paul noticed.
"They're taking her for a walk to tire her out." Paul assured her. Orla nodded and sat herself down on one of the settees "You alright?" He asked "Fine, just Ryan being himself." Orla told him. Paul looked at her as if to tell her to open up, "I feel awkward as shit being around my family now, even Scarlett and I hate that because I love her so much. It's just a mess, and it'll happen again in a few months if we make up, it's a constant cycle with him." Orla told him honestly. "I wish you would've told me." He replied.
"So you can repeat what happened last time?" Orla chuckled dryly, referencing a full on fight that had broken out when Orla was six months pregnant. "So I could've supported you in some way, you were my friend before anything else, you always will be." Paul told her. Orla smiled softly at him.
