Inspired by true events.
For over thirty years the bloody civil war that would be known as the War of the Roses ravaged england.
On 22 August, 1485, the remaining Lancaster survivors, lead by Jasper Tudor, defeated Richard III, the last York King, crowning Henry Tudor king by right of combat, and creating the Tudor dynasty.
This ultimate revenge for the destruction of House Lancaster was exceedingly unpopular with much of England, as Richard III had grown to be a respected duke and fair leader in such an uncertain time for the country.
In order to cement ties between the warring factions and prevent more bloodshed, Henry Tudor plans to marry Richard III's niece, Elizabeth of York.
Nobody asked Elizabeth what she thought of this.
