Caught In The Act

"Wha...who are you?"

As the sleepiness left his eyes, Aiden was too surprised to alert his parents about the visitor, and Lavender looked back at him in equal shock. After introducing herself to him, Lavender explained how she was the one that cleaned the house and made the spaghetti, only to blush when Aiden complimented her cooking. Seeing how she was in the middle of serving breakfast, Aiden offered to help Lavender while learning more about her, to which she nodded before they set to work. As the two of them set the table and set pieces of French toast on every plate, Aiden listened as Lavender talked about how she found the cottage before asking her why she would clean his house.

"Well, it was really a way to thank you for having a place to stay during the rainstorm, and it just turned into a whole-house project...well, most of the house."

When she apologized for not cleaning his room all the way, since she was in there when the family came home, Aiden chuckled and forgave her as they finished preparing breakfast. All the while, Aiden couldn't believe that a stranger would do something so nice upon entering another person's house, and he appreciated that about Lavender. When they wondered how he would introduce her to his family, Lavender admitted that she was nervous about meeting his dad, since Stanley sounded so tough when he discovered someone had been in the house. After assuring her that his father wasn't scary, Aiden explained how she could pretend to be asleep on the couch for them to find her there, and she giggled at his idea before nodding.

While Lavender was climbing onto the couch to start their introductory plan, Aiden helped her by tucking her in and making sure she was comfortable. As he watched her snuggle up with a second pillow, Aiden found her so adorable that he wanted to kiss her, but he kept that urge in as he made sure that she was alright. Once her eyes were closed, he heard his parents waking up before sneaking over to the dining room table, where he acted like he was just serving breakfast. While they were having breakfast, Stanley noticed that there was an extra plate of French toast and asked aloud if anyone was going to have it, and Aiden's eyes widened when he realized that he didn't hide it.
