As you noticed a head peak out behind from the boy he seemed to notice the sudden expression make it's way on your face.
"Is everything okay..?" He asks you as he steps closer to you.
"W.. What's that?!" You ask and point behind him.
He turns his head and after a few moments turns back to you. His expression was scared too now.
"We need to go." He says sternly and grabs your wrist as the two of you run out.
You didn't know how but the two of you ended up in a forest.
"Why are we here?" You broke the silence.
"Because of that head."
Is this guy suggesting is was a floating head?
"I know what you're thinking.. But it's true." He said and noticed he still was holding onto your wrist. He blushed and took his hand away slowly as he said "just believe me. Okay..?"
You nod your head and follow Oko. A tree was in front of you two. It was a very dark blue with the words 'Sumire' carved into it. Flowers were surrounding the tree.
"..what is this?"
"Um..Sumire is your mother.. Correct?" Oko turns to you with an anxious look on his face.
"Yeah. How did you know..?" You ask.
He doesn't respond as he grabs a black flower. He hands it to you as you take it reluctantly and confused by the gesture.
"What's this for?"
"..take it to your home. Then after you take a shower get the flower and keep it with you at all times." He noticed you were going to say something so he quickly adds "Please Y/N. Just trust me." He squeezes your hand softly as a nervous look creeps onto his face again.
"Alright. But why?"
"I can't say just yet. But you'll figure it soon.."
The two of you start to walk back but ad you do a figure appears.
They were tall and had plain white skin like paper. Their eyes seemed to be missing and so were their hands. They had black powder or something surrounding the empty holes where their eyes where supposed to be.
"What the fuck?!"
"Shh!" Oko whispered into your ear. "He can't see. Just hear. He'll attack us if we go near him or make noise." Oko takes you behind a tree and holds you close to him.
You felt more and more nervous as the figure came closer but kept going away. It kept repeating this until it fell into a lake and made a weird screeching noise.
"Is it gone? Or will it come back?" You whisper into Okos ear.
"He's gone for now.." He whispers back. He was whispering to calm you down -not that the creature was coming back or anything.
"Okay.." You let out a heavy sigh as you walk a few steps back from Oko.
As you walked away a bit you noticed a frown on his face but didn't understand what was wrong.
"What the fuck just happened? What was that.. That thing?!"
"It's one of the creatures I study. I know a lot about it - as long as you don't hurt his family - which I did do.. But if you leave him he'll leave you and anyone you love."
"So why was he coming after me? I just met you.." You shrugged.
"Um.. And uh.. People you think are nice like a platonic love!" Oko said.
"Okay!" You nod. You thought he was lying but ignored it anyway.
Why would he lie to you?
The two of you walked back to school. Oko said he'd allow you to borrow his book to learn about the creature for a day. He'd hand it to you after doing a couple of things about the creature the two of you encountered.
You waved goodbye to Oko as you went to your class. You sat down as you noticed a boy with bright orange hair come up to you.
"Hi!" He greeted you. You turned your head to him.
"Hi..um.."
"Raibaru! My name is Raibaru Fumetsu. Are you Y/N?"
"Yeah! How did you know?"
"I heard someone talking about you.." He said as he noticed the nervous expression on your face. "Oh - not in a gossip way. I think they liked you.. Romantically. Now that I think about.. I wonder if they were talking to themself."
He shrugged. "Oh okay.." You nodded. Thats weird..
"So do you want to be friends?!" He suggested. "I know one of my former friends also was friends with you. He really lov- liked you!"
Was?
"Yeah sure. I would love to be friends." You smile at him as he sits next to you.
Ayato watches the two of you smiling and talking to each other during class. The thought of you dating another boy was too much for him.
Without knowing it - tears started started to make their way into his eyes. Ayato bit his lip and stared down at his desk. He fidgeted with his pencil in his hand and sighed as he focused on the boring lesson again.
But it was hard to focus as he saw the boy touch your shoulder. He knew he meant it in more than a friendly way.
He wanted you too.
Oh Y/N. What have you done to me? Ayato thought as he observed your every move as he judged the boy nearby you.
