the yaksha stood atop of wuwang hill. another day of work had just been completed. she was relaxing at the foot of a hill, as a light breeze flew through her hair. everything was normal, nothing was going on. the silence was comforting, as her fatigued eyes were having trouble staying awake.
as she was fighting the urge to fall asleep, she heard a sudden yell. her eyes jolted up, as she raced down, jumping off the mountain. as she looked, she saw a female, what seemed to be a wanderer, held captive by some treasure hoarders. the women stayed back and watched what would happen.
"do you think she has the items we need?" one of them asked the person who seemed to be the leader of their group.
"most certainly,"
"we should hurry before someone finds us," one of them says, as they stash thousands of mora within their pocket.
"don't worry, no one will find us,"
they kept the girl tied, and they were making jokes with her. one of them was drinking alcohol while giggling. y/n found it simply disgusting how cruel they were being to the selfless girl. she quietly crept up, and before the treasure hoarders could even hear the yaksha, she froze them all in their place. she freed the selfless explorer, and looked at the treasure hoarders with utter revulsion. she held the girl close to her, and the treasure hoarders could barely breathe due to the tightened space.
"the tables have turned, now you're the one captivated," y/n spoke, while looking down at the treasure hoarders. the treasure hoarders were enraged, as they cursed at each other, blaming them.
they can't even own up to their mistakes, just blaming one another. the yaksha thought, are they really friends? or just people using each other for their own benefit.
"are you okay?" y/n turned around, and looked at the girl with worry.
"yes i'm okay, thank you for your help!" she said, smiling brightly. yet it felt like she wanted to say something else.
"what is it?" y/n asked, looking at the girl with a curious face. the girl realized that y/n noticed, and sweat dropped.
"oh nothing, it's just that they have my mora. all of it... i'll fetch it from them!" she said, turning around hesitantly. y/n also noticed that she didn't want to go to them, so she grabbed onto the girl's shoulder as she forced herself up from her seated position.
she walked to the treasure hoarders, and thanks to her memory, she remembered which one of them had the money within their pockets. she walked to the one with a mask and a hat, and took the mora from his pocket without saying a word. she then gave the money to the girl, as she sighed in relief.
"thank you miss! this money just gave me a week's worth of food!" she said, smiling brightly.
"no problem," she said, as she was about to turn around and leave.
