Y/n felt the sweat immediately run down her neck. Her hands were shaky. Her heart was beating out of her chest. The nerves were only building up more and more as the sound of the clock ticked from above the wall nearest to her.
She let out a deep breath looking at all of the other people who were in the same position as her. She saw people look just as nervous-and if not more nervous than she was. The only difference that she had from everyone else in the room was her gender.
"Y/n Harper"
Y/n stood up with her very much shaky legs and let out a deep breath. She didn't know exactly why the producer specifically asked for her to audition for this role. To be honest she wasn't even that well known through out the industry.
The most she ever did was write songs for other artist. Which by the way did get many hits. But honestly even that wasn't something she did in-front of people. Writing didn't require her to perform in front of millions of people.
Being a Ghost Writer came in handy
Being a Ghost Writer meant exactly what it sounded like. She wasn't someone who wanted to be famous for her writing. She just wanted her thoughts, opinion, and feelings to be put out there. It was her way of venting. Doing this also helped money come through for her. Definitely when she was the main provider for her family.
After her mom passed away from lung cancer she took in her younger siblings. It was actually them who convinced her to take in the offer of this role.
Y/n was auditioning for the role of 'Kippe Smith' in the movie Home. This role would be the thing that gets her name out there...something she's been avoiding ever since she started writing
When she walked into the room eyes immediately went to her. Some with interest. Some with disgust. One man stood out to her the most. He had a kind and friendly smile on his face.
"Hey, Y/n. I didn't think you would come honestly." The white man. He pulled his hand out with the biggest smile known to man. "Tim Johnson. I'm the producer of this film." Y/n returned his smile with a more firm handshake.
"Y/n Harper" she kindly shot back.
"Oh I know who you are." Tim smiled. "An old friend of mine told me about you. He told me about how much of an amazing writer you were. But don't worry. Your secret stays with me. He told me you weren't really out there as a writer. You lurk in the shadows..." he trailed off
"Yes. Thank you." Y/n shoulders slightly un tensed. She appreciated that the man wasn't going to put her on blast. She wasn't ready just yet to come out to the world with her writing, singing and etc. She wanted to do that on her own time. When she felt comfortable enough to do so.
Time flew by and the auditioning went on. Tim was actually suprised out how good Y/n was able to perform. For someone who liked to lurk in the shadows, she sure was an amazing actor. Her expressions were on point. The way that she was able to add her own humor was another thing that caught his eye.
She was actually what he needed.
"Cut" Y/n wiped her sweaty hands on her jeans with a tired sigh. This was a lot more work than it was being behind the scenes. "That was amazing Y/n. Seriously! I appreciate you taking the opportunity to audition for this role. I know that this is a male actor but we were looking to add a bit of diversity into the acting world. You are exactly what I'm looking for."
That made Y/n heart drop for a second. 'What did he mean by diversity?' Before she could say anything Y/n's questions were immediately answered.
"Umm..well we looked into you a bit more..and we saw that you had a condition-" before he could finished Y/n eyes furrowed with disbelief. Did they seriously do a deep dive into her?
"Are you serious?" Her anger shot through the roof. Her hands were starting to sweat more than it did before she walked into this room. They knew her secret. They knew the exact reason why she didn't want her face being shown to the world.
Before they could say anything to the Harper girl she walked out the room with her first balled. She didn't want to do anything she regretted so she just walked away.
She was overthinking so much that she didn't even notice the green eyed beauty walking her way. She felt herself bump into someone and before they could hit the floor she caught them. She gasped out.
"I'm so fucking sorry." She started to ramble and apologize but quickly stopped when the woman was giving her nothing but a raised eye brown and an amused smile.
It was then that she realized how beautful this woman was. Her face was ethereal. Honestly Y/n wondered what she did for her skin care routine. Oh, her sisters would definitely love her even more if she were to give them whatever it was this woman was doing for her face routine.
"You're fine." the woman waved off. She looked Y/n up and down with a tilt of her head. "How adorable."
That only caused Y/n to flush. Y/n? Blushing? Oh my what has this woman done..
Instead of causing herself with any further embarrassment she stuttered out another apology and find herself speed walking to the exit of the building. She needed to get out of there before she made a fool of herself infront of the beauty any longer.
Little did Y/n know..that wouldn't be the last time she would find herself seeing her...
