The fairest beauty let herself in his lonely lair. The brittle bottles of his habitual drinking and the usual cartons of cigarette are scattered on the dusty floor. Snow hated the messy apartment for what it seems to be untidy ever since he moved in. Deciding not to bicker about her surroundings, she turned her heel to face the still sheriff.
"What're you doing here, Snow?" . Bigby asked, still befuddled and absent-mindedly shutted the door behind him. Snow never fails to surprise him; she always leads him to a turmoil.
"I'm guessing that it would be very inconvenient for us to talk in the hallway, if that's what bothers you and I would like to sincerely apologize for giving you the cold shoulder, I was just carried away..." she trailed off, emitting a sigh; now doubting her recent decision to spend her time with him. The awkwardness between the two fables are increasing that you could almost cut it with a knife. Sensing the intense pressure, Bigby got a grip on himself and assured her that the incident was nothing. In reality, he was unhappy.
Snow, now changing her mind, decided to call it a night. She can't take it. Hell, she didn't expect it to be like this. She felt the butterflies roaming in her stomach, making her even more confused. The room is filled with an aura of bewilderment, hurt and...desire. The desire to stay.
"Well, I guess I should take off", clearing her throat "We still have work to attend to tomorrow, Mr. Wolf." Snow reached for the door knob when a firm hand gripped her wrist, making her gasp. Bigby stared at her, longing her to stay. He cannot stand it anymore, he missed her terribly bad that is already eating him up inside. "Stay, Snow" ,he panted as his pulse quickened from his recent action. "Please."
Bigby was known for being contented with isolation for centuries. The main reason behind was simple, they were terrified of him. Even now, fables are still slow to trust him. They thought that, somehow, he deserved it due to his savage cruelty and that his job was to cause continual trouble to them. Now, he couldn't careless; he wants to be with someone he was dying to be with even in a short amount of time and just forget about everything.
After a few common battling episode occurring in Snow's mind, she looked at his eyes that gave her an unusual comfort. Maybe, I should try. She thought, letting her guards down.
"Well it wouldn't hurt, just for now". Letting go of his grasp, she beckoned him to sit down on the wooden chair. She did the same and sat across him, placing the now lukewarm coffees on the table. He cannot help but to feel satisfied that she will share the loneliness with him. "So...how are you, uh, feeling?" Bigby asked, still concerned about her. He could sense her sadness.
"Bigby, I'm fine and..." she sighed and continued,"I just do not want to talk about it. Anyways, I haven't thanked you enough for bringing justice to the community. Without you, Fabletown will sink. Your bravery has saved us all. Most importantly, you are alive and I'm grateful." She smiled with a twinkle in her eye. Pure gratitude came to him. The unhappiness was replaced by joy when he never expected someone or, perhaps, Snow to praise his work and even told him that she was grateful he made it back in one piece.
"Never expected to hear that from you" he chuckled with astonishment.
"Mm-hmm, So, were you planning on drinking all of these?" Snow asked surprised, glancing at the numerous alcoholic drinks sitting on top of the table.
