I cannot move my hands.

Every attempt results in screaming pain shooting up my arms. I am being bound, held against a wall, chained and shackled by my wrists and feet.

I can smell blood, it's rich and my gums ache. My mouth falls open as my fangs pierce the flesh of my gums, dropping blood onto my tongue. I swallow down, my throat sandpaper dry. I can hear myself groan.

My knees ache, my feet pound and burn.

With every inhale and exhale steam gathers around my face then dissipates. I don't feel cold. The pain is hot and searing. Footsteps walk towards me.

"Wake up, harbinger."

I do not know this voice, it's deep and distorted. I peel my eyes open and my vision is hazy. It does not clear despite my blinking. My eyes fill with tears.

"We're going to have some fun, harbinger" the voice informs me.

"Who are you?" My voice is barely a whisper. Hot breah falls on my face, forcing my eyes closed.

"I am death and I have been waiting."
