BEEeeeeeep!!....BEEeeeeeep!!

I throw back the covers as my hand blindly searches for the off button. I moan in agony when I can't find it, turning over to search for it visually. My finger finally found its place on the off button as the echoing noise disappears from the room.

A yawn escapes my my mouth as my eyes slowly begin to blink open, squinting as I am welcomed by the light streaming in through my bedroom window. It took me a couple of moments to adjust as I gradually begin to roll out of bed.

"Good morning sweetheart," I hear my mom's voice as her head suddenly appears around the door. "Sleep well?" she asks cheerfully.

"Yeah." I mutter in a groggy, morning voice. "I had a weird dream though. I was stuck in this dungeon...the door was locked but I could see the key. I tried to get it, but it was just out of my reach and..."

Ding Dong

"I wonder who that could be," my mom interrupts me. Not letting me finish as she hustles down the hallway to see who has rung the doorbell.

My feet hit the floor as I sluggishly get up to use the restroom. I could hear the front door screech open as I slightly perk up at the sound of her name...

"Rachel!!" my mom exclaims as her voice travels through out the house.

My smile quickly fading as I glance at the clock; It was only 9:00am, she wasn't suppose to be here till 10:00!

Franticly looking through the unpacked moving boxes that are scattered throughout my bedroom, I finally come across the one marked Leah's Clothes, I quickly peal back the tape and unfold the flaps.

My pajamas hit the floor as I swiftly change into a simple red v-neck, a pair of jean shorts, and my favorite white converse. I brush my teeth, put a comb through my hair, and take one last look in the mirror.

My wavy auburn hair travels past my shoulders till it stops mid back. Freckles cover my nose and cheeks. Hazel eyes peer back at me as I look intently at my reflection...

Cute, not pretty nor ugly, but simply cute. That's the word I would use to describe my appearance.

I take one last glance as I grab my phone and wallet and rush out the door. I make my way towards the living room where I could hear Dad chatting with Rachel. As I turn the corner, Rachel glimpses up at me. A big smile appearing on her face. I could tell she was extremely happy to see me.

Probably because my dad was talking about one of his many traveling adventures as a young explorer. Stories Rachel and I had heard at least a hundred times.
I giggle softly to myself.

It feels like forever since the last time I saw her but she still looks like the same old Rachel. Dressed in a pink short sleeve shirt with a pair of white pants, her blonde shoulder-length hair pulled back into a lose ponytail and on her feet, a pair of speerys. Her magnificent figure and bubbly personality probably has all the boys in Willows Creek falling head over heels for her.

"Leah!!" Rachel shrieks as she leaped at me, arms open. We collide into one big bear hug. Almost falling over as we jump up and down in excitement.

"Oh, it's so good to see you," I say as we begin to pull away. "Sorry if I look like crap," I add jokingly, "You are an hour early."

"I just couldn't wait to see you and anyways, aren't you glad you get to spend a whole extra hour with me," Rachel teased sarcastically, a big grin slapped across her face. "Are you ready to go?" she asks.

"Yep," I nod, already heading towards the door, practically pulling Rachel with me as I grip onto her wrist. I wave to my parents as I slam the door behind me.
