Unexpected Friends and Enemies

Kai's POV: Jan. 13 0812
Daturn, Saso City

Raptor, Dev, Lux and I were heading to this BBQ restaurant that Raptor suggested. Apparently he has eaten here before and he said it was great food. Dev suggested we go to the bar a few blocks down from the restaurant after we eat. Looking up and at the city I couldn't help but get lost in the beauty of it. Skyscrapers all around us all representing different businesses. The many different restaurants we were passing all of them different. All of the restaurants had different foods that they sold based off of their traditions, I have never seen this before. My home planet wasn't as diverse as this one, we mainly had British traditions. Seeing the diversity on this world made me think about how happy people could be out here and why I fight against the IMC. The Samson started slowing down as we pulled up to this restaurant with a big neon sign that read "Meat And Great". "Ok everyone here we are." Raptor called out from the front seat. Opening my door and climbing out with Lux following, she took my hand as I closed the door to the Samson. "Come on lovebirds." Dev called out as him and Raptor were already waiting at the door. Walking hand in hand, Lux and I head their way. Walking up to the doors Dev holds them open as Raptor, Lux and I walk through all of us giving a "thank you" on the way in. The smells that hit me when we walked in were heavenly. Smoked ribs, mashed potatoes with gravy and even pulled pork were the most prominent smells. "Are you dining in?" A short blond women asked as Raptor walked up to her. "Yes. Table for four please." Hearing how many people were dining in the blonde grabbed four menus and started walking us to our table. It was a booth seat next to a window. "My name is May and I will be your waitress today." She said while gesturing for us to sit, which we gladly did. Dev and Raptor sat side by side while Lux and I sat side by side. May handed us our menus and started to walk away before being stopped by a sudden *crash* as a few tables over a guy fell to the ground with his beer in hand, losing his grip on the beer tho made it drop and shatter on the ground. "I told you five to be careful or I will be forced to kick you out again." All of the people at the table looked at May apologeticly, the oldest looking one of the five spoke up. "Sorry May. It won't happen again." The guy who had fallen slowly rose off the floor and sat back in his seat. Dev and Raptor started laughing while I let out a chuckle. Lux just shook her head and started looking at the menu Infront of her. Grabbing the menu and flipping to a page with steaks on it I started reading it. They had a few options for steaks but the T-Bone steak called out to me. Five minutes ago by and May comes out to get our orders. Dev and Raptor got a rack of BBQ Ribs to share between the too of them while Lux got a London Broil and I got a T-Bone steak with a side of Mac and Cheese. The table of five paid for their food and drinks, then left. After about thirty minutes May came to our table and serverd us our food. My steak was so juicy, well seasoned and perfectly cooked it made my mouth water with every bite. The Mac and Cheese was great as well. They added bacon and extra cheese into it making ten times better than regular Mac and Cheese. Before I knew it there wasn't anymore steak because I ate it all. The flavors of the Mac and Cheese plus the steak were still making my mouth water. "Wow that was the best dam steak I have ever had." Dev and Raptor smiled at my comment while Lux rested her head on my shoulder as she had finished her food as well. Raptor looked like he was about to tap out. Dev on the other hand was almost done with his half and was eyeballing Raptor's half of ribs. Before Dev could try and take Raptor's ribs May came over. "Here is the bill." She says handing it to Dev. "Thanks." He grabbed the check and before he pays I reach over and snatch it from him. "Here let me pay Dev." Sticking my credit chit in the billfold and handing it to May as she smiles and takes it from me. Turing to Dev with a devilish smile. "I can't let you be the gentleman all the time now can I." He shook his head as he knew I was referring to the time that he paid a five hundred credit order for the four of us when we were on Harmony. May came back with my credit chit. "Here you go." She said while handing it to me. With a quiet "thanks" we all got up and left the restaurant. As we walked to the bar I couldn't help but look at all the different shops and businesses around here. Lux kept looking at me with a huge smile on her face as I would get super excited about certain stores. Soon enough we made it to "Jackson's Bar and Hotel" we walked into the lobby a bald black man waited with a smile as we walked up to him. "Hello and Welcome to Jackson's Bar and Hotel. My name is Charon and will you be getting a room or are you here for the bar?" He asked with a smile still on his face. "We're here for the bar today." Dev replied as Charon pointed to his left. "The bar is just in there." We all followed his directions and entered the bar where other patrons were drinking, laughing and all together having a good time. We sat at a table while Dev asked for someone to serve us for the next few hours. When he came back a waiter was following. "Welcome to Jackson's Bar I'm Midas and I will be your Waiter tonight. Are you ready to order?" We all ordered a few beers each. While waiting on our drinks a group of three walk in and immediately start staring at me and Lux holding hands. Paying them no mind I tune back into Dev's story. "So when I found Raptor in the wreckage of a drop ship I pulled him out and radioed for a med evac. Ever since then we have been saving each other neither one of us have been able to get even on that debt." Lux intervened. "Or maybe you guys are gay for each other." She said so matter of fact that it made me spit out the current sip of beer I was on and laugh. "We are good friends but not that close." Raptor said while Dev got a shit eating grin and said. " "Not that close" so your saying I got a chance?" Raptor immediately hit him in the arm. "Not a chance in the universe." This caused me and Lux to laugh even harder until a loud "Ahmm" came from our right and there stood the party of three. "You need to leave." He said pointing at Lux and I. "Why?" Asking him this seemed to piss him off. "We don't accept your kind around here." This confused me at first. "My kind?" I asked. "We don't accept Gay's around here." He said while seeming to get more pissed off. "Hey how about you fuck off and mind your own business." Lux finally spoke up to him which only pissed him off more as he pulled a P2011 on us. "The fuck did you say to me!" He aimed the pistol at Lux and I as we held our hands up. None of us have our sidearms as we thought we wouldn't need them. "You lay a hand on us your going to wish you were dead." Lux spoke in polish as he looked at her confused. Surprisingly tho someone else intervened before this guy could do anything. She stabbed the man in the arm making him drop the gun and scream in pain. "Get the fuck out of my Bar." She said while another girl wearing a tuxedo grabbed the P2011 and escorted the guy and his friends out. The women who stabbed the bigot turned around and looked at us. "I'm so sorry you had to deal with him and his buddy's." She said while sitting at an empty seat at our table. "My name is Ellie and I run the Bar and Hotel here." Looking at her confused she must have seen that look and continued. "Jackson was my brother and he ran it before he died. I won't bore you with details but I get the look all the time." Taking another sip of my beer and setting it back down on the table as the girl in the suit walked up to Ellie. "They won't be allowed back in mam." She said while handing the pistol to Ellie. "Good work Lexi." Ellie responded while taking the pistol. She then turned and looked at us. "Please enjoy your night and if you need anything just ask Charon." She got up and left with Lexi following her. Dev didn't get anymore to drink since he was driving us home but Raptor, Lux and I got another beer before heading back to our apartment's. As we returned to our apartment I enjoyed the city as all the neon sign's shined in the night. Getting to Mine and Lux's room we both didn't even bother getting out of our clothes as we just hopped in bed. Lux fell asleep on my chest shortly after and the sound of her breathing was able to put me at ease while I slowly started to close my eyes as the world went black.
