DEAR 2020
I prepared last year, to win this year's fight,
A 12 round match , with an underdog,so I knew I'd be alright.
My opponent stepped into the ring, with a staggering 7'6' height,
My courage retired and fear took its spot, all was numb,
"Pity the poor 17 year old ?" ,But nah,he wasn't that dumb.Round One,a right upper-cut straight to my mouth ,
Lost a few pearly white friends but I didn't need them so I spat them out ,
I want to win ,I came here to win ,I will win ,no doubt.
I looked up determined ,and avoided the next blow,
Dodge left, dodge right, now it's my turn, to settle the score.Three jabs to the chest and one blow to the head,
Welcome ,I'm Satan the devil and yes, you're dead,
But my opponent's strong so he got up instead.
I wasn't angry and I wasn't scared my opponent was determined,
So a piece of advice , unknown to the world of audience, I shared,"Last year, last round, knocked out I fell to the ground,
Dead they thought, yet I got up,I had one more round,
I defeated last year , undisputed amazon I was crowned."
My opponent unbothered, swung a punch to my eye
Sightless in pain, darkness shrouded me, no time to cry.
But Dear 2020,( for that was the number my opponent wore ) ,
Like in the IPL , as expected, I won 4 times a row,
This match is no different , why ,you want to know ?
Cuz I'm a believer, and with every punch you throw,
I'll learn my mistake and practice my counters,
To conquer life, become champion as I advance in numbers.
