Harvey took a deep breath as he stepped out of the clinic. He had been so caught up in his work lately that he barely had time for himself, let alone for the person he had been thinking about constantly. But today was different. Today, he had made a special effort to clear his schedule and arrange a picnic with Y/N.
Harvey quickly got himself ready and walked briskly with a picnic basket full of treats in one hand and an old plaid picnic blanket in the other, the excitement and nervousness making his heart race. He could feel the soft breeze on his face and the warm sun on his skin. It was a perfect day for a picnic. He had picked out the perfect spot just outside of Cindersnap Forest, where the trees provided a natural shade and the wildflowers bloomed in abundance. It was the perfect place to tell Y/N just how he felt!
As he walked, he couldn't help but wonder what Y/N would think of his little surprise. Would they be pleased? Would they enjoy spending time with him as much as he did with them? His heart was racing, and his palms were sweaty as he approached the spot he had chosen for the picnic.
He took a deep breath and looked around. The area was quiet, with only the sounds of birds chirping and leaves rustling in the wind. He smiled to himself, feeling content and relaxed. It was the perfect day for a picnic, and he couldn't wait to spend it with Y/N.
Harvey took out the blanket and the basket he had packed earlier and arranged them neatly on the ground. He sat down on the blanket, feeling the soft grass tickle his legs. He checked his watch, noting that he had a few minutes before Y/N was due to arrive.
He took another deep breath and looked around at the scenery. It was so peaceful, and he felt his nerves slowly beginning to calm down. The gentle rustling of leaves and the chirping of birds were soothing, and he felt his muscles relax.
Harvey was lost in thought when he suddenly heard footsteps approaching. His heart leapt into his throat as he saw Y/N approaching. He stood up to greet them, his palms sweating again.
"Hey, Harvey," Y/N said, smiling warmly. "This is such a nice surprise. What's all this?"
Harvey smiled back, feeling his nerves melting away at the sight of Y/N. "I thought we could have a picnic together, the weathers just lovely today!" he said, motioning towards the blanket and the basket.
Y/N's eyes lit up, and they walked over to the blanket. Harvey sat down, and Y/N sat down next to him. They both looked at the food in the basket, and Harvey opened it up, revealing sandwiches, fruit, and some sweet treats along with a thermos full of his favourite drink, coffee!
The two of them chatted and laughed over lunch, enjoying each other's company. Harvey felt his heart swell with happiness as he looked at Y/N, and he couldn't help but think how lucky he was to be spending such a beautiful day with someone he cared about so deeply.
As the afternoon went on, Harvey and Y/N sat together, watching the sunset over the horizon. They talked about everything and nothing, simply enjoying each other's presence. As the stars began to twinkle in the sky, Harvey turned to Y/N, feeling a surge of bravery.
"Y/N," he said softly. "I have something that I need to tell you."
Y/N looked at him curiously, and he continued nervously in almost a whisper "I know we've been friends for a while now, but...I've realised for some time now that my feelings for you go beyond just ... friendship. I...I think I'm in love with you."
Harvey's heart was pounding in his chest as he waited for Y/N's response. They looked surprised for a moment, but then a smile spread across their face.
"Harvey, I had no idea," They said softly. "But...I... I suppose Ive felt the same way."
Relief flooded over Harvey like a wave. He couldn't believe it. Y/N felt the same way he did. Without even thinking he inched his face closer to theirs, Y/N's face became as red as a beet as they closed the distance between them, sharing a sweet kiss, their feelings for each other becoming clear.
For the rest of the day, they explored the forest hand in hand, taking in the beauty of nature and reveling in their newfound love. Harvey had never been happier. He knew that there would be challenges ahead, but with Y/N by his side, he felt like they could face anything.
As the sun began to set, they sat on a fallen log and watched the colors of the sky change. Harvey wrapped his arm around Y/N's shoulder and pulled them closer. He was finally able to relax, knowing that he had expressed his true feelings and that they were returned.
Together, they sat in peaceful silence, enjoying each other's company and the beauty of the world around them. For Harvey, it was a moment he would never forget.
