(Jenna's POV)
Growing up in a small town had its advantages. Everyone knew everyone, and it was easy to make friends. But the best thing about growing up in that town was Jake.
We met when we were six years old, and we became inseparable. We did everything together, from playing hide-and-seek to exploring the woods behind our houses.
One day, while we were sitting on a bench in the park, Jake turned to me and said, "Jenna, let's make a promise. Let's promise to always be there for each other, no matter what."I smiled and said, "Of course, Jake. You're my best friend, and I'll always be there for you."
We both took a rock and carved our initials on a tree nearby, sealing our promise. From that day on, we knew that no matter what life threw our way, we would always have each other.
