The coldness of the night brewed in with the crowded streets of New York as Alina drew off in the lanes of the city. The windows were open to let the night's crazy fresh air to run into her face and hit her body. It was somehow relaxing to her. Only she would know that. After a few minutes of drive, she reached her long time best friend's house at 30 Henry Street. It wasn't too far for her. The model had pulled up her car two blocks away from Jack's place since she didn't want the paparazzies' attention towards the event. Before stepping out of black range rover, she put on her coat and pulled up the hoodie she had worn inside to hide herself. After a quiet walk with no other pedestrians recognizing her, she now stood in front of the house. She rang the bell and was greeted by Sam, the head of Jack's security team at the lobby.

It had been quite a long time since she had last seen him and that was a year ago at the band's concert she was personally invited by Jack himself. "Hey Sam." she greeted the man who looked at her with a small smile. "Good evening Ms. Maudet." "Get over with the formal greeting already! You've known me for six years now." she complained as she removed her coat and hoodie and hung them on the coat rack revealing the lace corset top and black jeans she had worn for the night. "Sorry Ms- Alina, it's a habit." the tall man shrugged. "Well at least you tried. How are the kids and wife?" she inquired about his family. "They are all good. Thankyou for asking." "It's no problem. Has everybody come already?" "Just a few people and Ms. Delevingne." "Alright, thankyou. Meet ya soon" she said as she stepped into the elevator to reach the party destination.

The elevator door opened with a ding and there was Jack alongside Mickey while Gina poured out some wine as the loud music played on the speakers. "ALINA!!" Cara screamed over the sound of music on her way as she approached her friend. "CARA" Alina said and engulfed her in a hug. "We're gonna have shots now!" a short blonde woman announced as she made her way towards them. "Already, Gina?" the brunette model said. "Never too late late for shots" she replied. "Gina it's really early for shots yet." Cara said with a shake of her head. "Is it though?" the woman said with a wink and left to head to the kitchen. "Man she's drunk already" Jack said as he came next to Cara. "Hey Ally!" he said as he hugged Alina. "You made it to the party!" "I know, you did uninvite me, but my feet pulled me here." she joked and walked along with her friends at her side.

The party had been sailing smoothly and was turning wild with Gina and Mickey's drunk asses playing bets on stupid things. Jack was talking to the musicians he had invited along with Max Martin, Shellback and a few more. Apparently they were to start working together on a singer's album. Cara had been busy talking to the other men in the party while Alina had opted to stay a bit away from the fun and chaotic night, she just couldn't vibe with them. She wanted to enjoy with them, she really did but she couldn't do it openly knowing her childhood best friend had died soon after leaving a celebrity's Christmas party last year in LA. She didn't want to get herself into a similar situation. She felt guilty of having moved on from her death so quickly, just in three months. Even though she shouldn't blame herself for it, she did it anyways for not being there to save her. Jack had noticed her sitting quietly in the corner of the living room absentmindedly whirling the contents inside her beer bottle.

He was worried for his friend. He knew what was up with her because he'd be the one on the other line when she'd empty out her feelings during late night calls. The world and media may see her being happy but in reality, she was just masking those emotions with good efforts but they weren't good enough when he could see right through her. He made his way towards and sat in the chair next to her. "What's going on in that pea sized brain of yours?" he asked her while nudging her shoulder which pulled the brunette out of her thoughts. "Pea sized you say?" she jokingly said. "No but seriously, what are you thinking and don't say it's nothing cause you would finish your beer in one gulp normally without stirring it." The model smiled slightly at that and looked at her friend brokenly. "It's my first time at a party since Isabella's... well you know, death. Her mom told me that she had also been at a party before the accident." "You feel unsafe and guilty but there's nothing to feel like that here. You see us all? We are free here, getting off some steam from the stress at the studio. You need to enjoy too. You have walked 15 shows last week and pulled off like what 23 looks? I mean that is crazy tiring, you got to blow off some stress. With your company and modelling, I can only imagine its all physical stress for you. With the whole breakup and all, you definitely some." the bespectacled man said to her. "You are right, I need to blow off some stress and workload. No shitty break up can stop me from enjoying the party and doing shots." she said excitedly. "Come on, now. Gina's putting up 27 shots" he said as he pulled up the younger girl and dragged her happily to the kitchen counter covered with liquor bottles and shot glasses filled with the burning vodka. Alina thought she was lucky that nobody had seen sulking in a corner earlier but boy, she was so fucking wrong.

She had definitely gotten the attention a certain tall, blue eyed blonde who talked with the musician guests at the party. Taylor had felt like she had seen the brunette somewhere and later remembered the billboard ad she had seen this morning. Alina was a very modest person who wouldn't admit she was beautiful but to Taylor, she looked perfect. She looked like someone who'd be easy to be friends with and by friends she meant, being life long, trusting friends. Taylor had always longed for that kind of friends. Even in her childhood, she had her share of disloyal friends who would lie about being busy and later meet up together at the mall with the rest of the group except hers.

These kind of instances had made the blonde singer so cryptic of who'd she let in her circle and who she'll go apart from. By now, she had become better at identifying such people but she would still suffer at the hands of her ex-boyfriends who would promise her the world an later leave her alone to handle herself. There were songs to prove it. She was still trying to be better at it. Her choice of profession and fame made her meet several people to be friends with but there were only a handful who stayed.

Taylor saw Jack approach her along with Cara as they giggled over something. "Tay, why weren't you at the shots?" she asked the singer. "I'm still not done with my wine." the blue eyed blond truthfully said. Jack only shook his head and pulled the singer with him towards the group of his friends as he introduced her to them. She very carefully observed each of them. Mickey was the tallest one who when filled in with his beer, won't even care about the party to enjoy. Gina was the shortest one in the bunch who would just say that "I swear, I don't love alcohol, it loves me" but she was also the most talkative of all. Clara was a musician who played drums, Taylor found that pretty cool. The last but not the least was the about equally tall and beautiful brunette she had observed the most the party.

"Alright... and this is someone I've been wanting you to meet since last two weeks cause Ms. I am a Model was too busy to come." Jack laughed as he pointed accusingly at the brunette in front of them but she only playfully glared and put up a soft and genuine smile on her face. "Taylor, this is my god-sister Alina. Alina, this is the amazing Taylor." the man introduced them. Taylor had heard the name somewhere, she was sure of that. "Wait, Alina as in Maudet?" the blonde couldn't pull herself back from saying it. "I shouldn't have said that-" "Nah it's cool. You are right though, Alina Maudet." the brunette said as she put out her hand for Taylor to accept, which she gladly did. "Taylor... Swift, nice to meet you." the model re- introduced herself.

"People, next round of shots coming up!" Gina announced as she filled a few more glasses. Alina looked at her with a playful smirk. "You wanna do them?" she asked the blue eyed girl in front of her. "I've never had those actually" Taylor admitted embarrassingly which made her face turn red. "Hey, don't be embarrassed. There's always first for something." the model said as she then handed a shot glass to the singer. Alina then clinked their glass softly and threw down the vodka to the back of her throat without pulling a face. Taylor was immediately impressed to say the least. "Wow.." she was left wordless. "Come on, your turn." Alina told her. Taylor looked a bit scared of having heard how strong vodka usually is but nevertheless, she gulped it in a go but ended up making a face at the taste. "What the hell-" she started but quickly put the lemon slice on her tongue which the girl in front of her offered immediately. "I know, but it's fun." "But you made it look so easy. This was just plain yuck." the blonde complained. "Eh, that's my talent I guess." Taylor could only playfully glare at her. "Come on, you don't like it, we'll let's switch to something else." Alina said. "Oh you can continue with the shots, you don't have to switch for me." "I insist. Plus I've got to drive home by myself." she said with a wink. "And you are drinking?" Taylor said with wide eyes. "Perks of being friends with Jack, you get good tolerance. Love you brother!" she yelled the last part to the bespectacled man who returned it with a "Love you too!"

The two definitely had a fun dynamic as god- siblings and Taylor could immediately relate. She also had a brother. But there was something about the brown eyed woman in front of her that had her pulling closer onto her. She had immediately clicked over with her. There was a genuine likeness within her for Alina. The laughs they had over the jokes being shared and stories being recited, just made her feel more comfortable in her company. Taylor had always longed for this kind of friendship which she had just found three hours ago. It made her wonder, to ask Alina on face, where had she been all this time? For Alina, she could only think of the same about Taylor.
