Naruto's POV

My heart raced as I stood there, frozen in disbelief. The figure before me, the one I had assumed was just another ninja on a mission or perhaps even an enemy, turned out to be him! I couldn't believe my eyes; the shock and surprise were overwhelming.

"Sasuke?" I choked out, my voice trembling with a mixture of astonishment and longing. It was him, standing there in front of me, his presence evoking a torrent of emotions that I had struggled to suppress for so long... his voice resonates through the air, sending shivers down the spines of those around us.

Yet, to me, it's more soothing than anything, as sweet as honey, even sweeter. I can't help but embrace him tightly, unwilling to let go. But deep down, I know I have to allow him his journey, for the sake of his goals, even though it hurts.

As we hold each other, the weight of the unspoken truth hangs between us. I understand why he's come. He must hand over Kurama to the Akatsuki to gain their trust. And I must die in the process, as its vessel... The memory of overhearing those unsettling conversations at the Akatsuki camp during a past mission lingers in my mind.

Sasuke's expression shows a mix of surprise and frustration. His eyes burn with an anger he can't put into words.

"Is there not any other mission? I would like something harder," Sasuke finally spoke...

"This is hard enough, Uchiha. Don't tell me you don't want to go for he is your friend," Kisame retorted, a knowing glint in his eyes.

"Can you not send anybody else?" he asked, attempting to find an alternative solution.

Tobi turned towards him with a taunting tone. "Aww, little Uchiha is scared, huh?"

"Fine, I will go."

The memories flash before me like scenes from a movie, reminding me of Sasuke's internal struggle. Blood mingles with my tears, a painful reminder of the situation at hand.

"Naruto, get off him, he will kill you, he tried to kill me!", Sakura screeched...

I can't help but retort, defending him despite the turmoil. "If you stab someone with a POISONOUS KUNAI, wouldn't they defend themselves?"

"He's probably here to kill you, Naruto!" Sakura's voice cracks, tears streaming down her face.

"I don't care. Leave us alone," I reply, a mixture of determination and emotion in my voice.

Sasuke's POV

'What is that dobe doing... I'm here to kidnap him... and he... cares about me!'

"Sasuke, is the wound very deep?" Naruto's tear-streaked face transforms from concern to determination as he begins to weave unfamiliar hand signs for a jutsu.

"Hn."

"I'm sorry for what Sakura did to you, let me heal you."

"Can't I just leave?"

"Of course not, teme, though you may leave once you are completely healed."

That pink-headed nuisance was ruining our moment. "Naruto, he will kill you, get away from him, he is a rogue ninja."

"He won't," Naruto retorted with a smile, his voice strangely seductive.

Then he did something unexpected. He placed a kunai in my hand and guided it to his throat.

'If I wanted to, I could kill him right now. It would be easier to bring him to the Akatsuki. After all, he can be obnoxious.'

"What are you doing, dobe?"

"See, Sakura? He won't kill me."

He tilted his head toward me, whispering in my ear, seductively, "Don't kill me yet, teme. At least not in front of Sakura."

"Now please go away, Sakura. You can finish the mission with Sai."

"You can't make me leave, Naruto."

"But I am the captain today. So leave."

"Fine, but if you end up dead, it won't be my fault," Sakura muttered, her voice on the brink of tears.

Naruto's glowing hands were now on my chest, emanating a bright green light.

"When did you learn all that?"

"I've learned a lot more since you were gone."

"Why will you let me leave once I am well?"

"I shouldn't stop you from achieving your goals. You may choose any path you like, but remember there will always be a place for you at my house."

"Thanks."

"Congrats... I heard you killed Itachi."

"Can we not talk about him now?"

"Sure."

The pain in my chest slowly ebbed away as Naruto's healing jutsu took effect. Our conversation seemed to hang in the air, heavy with unspoken words and emotions.

"Now I will be going... bye, dobe."

"PLEASE, stay for a day at least."

"I need to go."

"PLEASEEEEEEE," Naruto's plea is desperate. I can't believe I'm here to give my little ball of sunshine to the Akatsuki. I use my Sharingan to scan his chakra.

I'm almost thrown back by what I see.

'He has so much chakra that he could defeat ten of me right now. The only way is to kidnap him while he's sleeping or if he willingly goes along, but the latter is unlikely to happen. So, I have to stay with him. I'll capture him tonight.'

"Are you okay, Sasuke?"

"Fine, but just a day. I'll leave tomorrow morning. I don't want anyone finding out I was here."

"Sure."

Naruto's eyes are fixed on me, his expression a mixture of concern and a foreign deep gaze I may never fathom. The weight of his gaze makes my chest tighten with a strange mix of emotions, the turmoil of my thoughts mirrored in his blue eyes.

He takes a step closer, his proximity making my heart race for reasons I can't comprehend. "Sasuke, I know things have changed between us, but you don't have to leave right away. You're still healing."

I'm taken aback by his persistence, by the genuine care in his voice. "Naruto, you're acting as if we're friends again."

He chuckles softly, a hint of nostalgia in his expression. "Maybe we can be, Sasuke. It's been a long time, and I'm tired of us being on opposite sides."

His words strike a chord within me, reminding me of the bonds we had once shared, the dreams we had together. Despite everything, despite my own decisions, Naruto's unwavering faith remains a constant in my life.

"Maybe," I reply, my tone softer than I intended. "But only for a day."

He grins, a genuine, bright smile that warms something deep within me. "That's a start, Sasuke."

As the evening appears before us, I find myself in the company of the one person I never expected to call a friend again.

(A/N - Lets just suppose that Naruto has that much power as he had when Hagoromo blessed him and Sasuke is still at the amount of power he had during the Pain arc. Not that naruto is a genius in this ff but cause he has trained a huge lot more in this ff...)
