No son of mine
Will ever do
The work of villains,
The will of fools"It is true then," - Garmadon said in a sad, quiet voice – "They got you somehow..."
Realization struck the master of destruction. The prophecy couldn't be mistaken. Lloyd is the Green Ninja, he cannot die, no to mention end up here, in Limbo. What happened to Ninjago? Are other ninjas dead, too? This is a catastrophe!
Does Lloyd know what he's got himself into?
"What are you talking about? Dad, I haven't seen you for ages! How did you get here? How long have you been here? What is this place? What has just happened? Who are these guys? When did you learn to fight that well? How did you get here, again?"
Lloyd still was filled with adrenaline after the battle. He was so happy to meet his father that he could jump up and down right now, just like a little kid.
"Little kid... That's what she would say..."
"Stop! Outta my head!"
Garmadon didn't know how to react.
"Lloyd obviously doesn't know how bad the things are. I shouldn't tell him what consequences this whole situation can lead to. Not now. It would break him. Right now, he needs my help and guidance, and I have to help him get back to Ninjago."
It goes without saying that Garmadon was more than happy to see his son again. But in the face of this unknown danger, he shouldn't let his emotions take control of him. Lloyd couldn't stay here, and Garmadon understood it more than anyone else. But as long as Lloyd is in Limbo, he needs his father to be there more than anything.
"Hey, hey, too many questions, big man! Let's start with one thing, then move to another - Garmadon's face was enlightened with a caring smile, but it quickly disappeared as soon as he looked around - We need to get out of here quickly. I'm sure there are more of them coming."
"Okay... First question: What is this place?"
"This realm, you mean? Well, this would be hard to explain... You are in the City of Limbo. This is the city of dead people whose destiny has not yet been fulfilled. Most of the citizens, however, are here for another purpose. The majority of people here are stuck between two realms: The Departed Realm and The Ninjago Realm. Back there, among the living ones, they lie in a coma or suffer from serious injuries, but here their souls are still alive..."
It was harder than Garmadon thought it'd be for Lloyd to process everything. Green Ninja walked beside him speechless, watching his step. Garmadon took a break and looked at Lloyd's reaction.
"Do you mean... I'm dead?"
Lloyd had a hard time understanding this. He's been through many things, constantly balancing on a rope between life and death. Traveling around the magic Realms, he knew one thing: there is nothing impossible. There is always a solution to every problem, there is always a way for salvation, there is always something that would not let him die. And he had always found this thing. At least he used to.
"Apparently, yes, but..."
"Why do I not remember my death? How can souls exist with their bodies left in another dimension? What do you mean by "has not yet fulfilled their destiny"? Are you- we meant to come back?"
"Easy, easy, big man. You will have to go through a lot, I assume... You see, there's one interesting thing: the key to understanding our path is always hidden in the last seconds of our lives. The Fate is a great joker, and that's why nobody in Limbo can remember how exactly they died. And there's literally nothing you can do about that. I tried to look into my story, but I never succeeded... "
