They eventually got there after a short-ish ride. "Alright, ready?" Renjun nodded and yawned, sitting up. "Tired?"
"Exhausted" He said. He grabbed his bag and got out.
Haechan got out and they went inside. "Dad?"
He heard the sound of frying in the kitchen. "In here" His dad said. He led Renjun into the kitchen. "You're normally back sooner than-" He turned around. "Oh? A friend?"
Haechan nodded. "This is Renjun. He's locked out of his house and doesn't have anywhere to stay for the night"
"Oh, god. That's not good. Parents didn't answer?" He asked. Renjun shook his head and looked down.
"He's kinda shy" Haechan said. "But yeah, I don't even think they're at home"
"Alright, no big deal. Make yourself at home, kid" He said, giving Renjun a comforting smile.
Renjun smiled back. "Thank you, sir"
"Course! Haechan, did your mom text you?" He asked.
Haechan furrowed his brows. "Uh.. No. She only ever texts me to ask for money. Why?"
His dad sighed. He had figured that she hadn't told him because he definitely wouldn't have brought Renjun over if he did. "She's going to Miami for a month"
"And...? Why should I care?" He asked. "Here," Haechan pulled Renjun to the table and pulled a chair out for him. "Go ahead" Renjun unzipped his jacket and sat down.
"Dylan's not going with her"
Haechan stilled. Renjun tilted his head. He looked up at Haechan, who didn't look too happy. "I'm sorry?"
"He's staying here and he's gonna attend your school until she gets back" He said. He wasn't expecting a good reaction from him, which he didn't get at all.
"You're fucking kidding..." Haechan said, sighing.
"Who's Dylan?" Renjun asked softly.
"My brother" Haechan said.
"Oh" Renjun said, remembering what he just said about him. "That's bad, then?"
"Very" Haechan said. He stood behind Renjun and wrapped his arms around him. "So when is he coming?"
His dad sighed and turned back to the stove. "You won't like this one, either"
"Great. Tonight?"
"Yup" He said. "Should be here around 8"
Renjun frowned and looked up at him. Haechan smiled and ruffled his hair. "It'll be fine" He said.
His dad peeked over and smiled a little. He could tell Renjun looked pretty nervous. "Are you hungry, Renjun?"
"A-A little.." He said.
"Yeah? Do you like chocolate cake?" He asked. He smiled when Renjun's face lit up. "I take that as a yes?"
Renjun smiled. "It's my favorite..."
"Then you better save room" He said.
Haechan chuckled. "He's an amazing chef" Haechan said. "Even owns his own restaurant. And he's a good baker"
Renjun gasped. "Really?"
Haechan smiled and nodded. His dad looked over. "I guess I am pretty good" He said. "So.. I'm just gonna throw this out there. You don't look like anyone that would even think about going near Haechan"
