Reading Minds

''What would you do if you could read someones mind? Know what they were thinking about ? Well I can. I havent always though. I am Rae Summers. Pronounced like Ray, my mum says she called me ray because I am a 'ray of sunshine'. An unusual name but then, I am unusual too I guess.

I dont really know how it all happened but it was only last week I began to hear people's thoughts I guess I have some weird physic-ness that means I can hear peoples thoughts, I alwasy knew I was different but not THIS different. At first it was like a whisper as if I was just eavesdropping on someone near me. But now I can hear it as clear as if someone was talking to me. I am 17 it all started a week before Valentine's day...

I am late. I started rushing down the empty corridor, I am never late! Whats wrong with me today?

'crap I am late'

I turned around. But there was no one there, "hello?'

There wasnt any answer, so I carried on. maybe I am going crazy, but i swear I heard something.

'and I forgot the homework!' 

Ok I defiantly heard something that time but it sounded like Jamie? 

Jamie is my best friend, we have known each other our whole lives and we know everything about each other. He is really tall with dark brown messy hair and deep chocolate eyes, he is handsome thats why all the girls love him.  We get along really well even though we are both really different, he is the cool goofy funny guy at school who is always laid back about everything, whereas I am the good girl who actually does my homework and isnt at parties every night. 

 'oh well I guess I can just copy Rae's'

It was defiantly his voice! As I turned the corner of the corridor I saw the door to my class, and at the other end of the corridor was Jamie walking towards me.

"hey Rae! Do you mind if I - "

"copy my work?"

"yeah you know me too well" he winked at me and walked into class.

'oh god she's druelling again' 

"What?" I turned to Jamie as he sat down next to me in the cafeteria.

"I didnt say anything ? You were to busy druelling over Noah again. You feeling ok Rae ? You been acting a little odd today ?"

"Sorry yeah I am fine and I wasnt druelling! " Noah is the high school hottie! Tall blonde floppy hair, glistening white teeth and the most sexiest blue eyes that make you want to melt and his is rich which means he gets whatever he wants, whenever. He is the only guy who can get more girls than Jamie if he wanted. 

"Ofcourse you werent, so what are you doing on valentine's day ?"

"Valentine's day, the worst day of the year, where every girl who has a date loves to just rup it in your single little face, espically whoever Noah asks" 

"Yeah, I well I dont think he has asked anyone yet, but why dont we go out then ? I will pick you up after school and we will go to the movies or something, we can have our own friend date"

"thanks Jamie thats sounds fun"

As the bell went I walked into class and saw Noah sit down next to me.

'hmm, I cant be alone on valentine's it will ruin my reputation. But who do I pick? oh well I can get anyone, no need to worry about it, its Friday and Valentine's is next Thursday'

I turned and looked at Noah, did he just say that out loud ? I looked around but nobody noticed. Maybe I am just imagining things again. 

'Maybe a blonde this time?'

Ok that was defiantly Noah but his lips didnt move. Wait, is this happening again ? No it cant do ? When I was about 10 years old I began hearing voices, only they werent voices, they were thoughts. How can I hear them again ? sure it can come in handy but sometimes it can be a pain, and I cant turn it off, I hear the thoughts of people who are standing close to me.

"no defiantly brunette, what about Cassie ? no, to stuck up. Jessica ? no to slutty, Rae ?"

My heart stopped. I could finally hear what NOAH WHITES thought of me !

' hot, but no, too... just too easy '

Too easy ??!!

"Hey Rae, can I borrow some of your notes, I missed last lesson" I turned to Noah, angry and snapped.

"No you can't!!"

 'woah! whwat did I ever do to her? I guess was wrong, she is feist. I like it'

'ok then maybe you could show my after school at your place?" he said it will the most most beautiful smile that made my heart coem out of my chest.

Did Noah just ask me to be alone with him at my house, Noah!!

"errrr....ssureee"

"ok cool, see you later"

oh my god! I have a study date with Noah! Just wait till I tell Jamie! He wont believe it! hey, maybe this mind reading isnt so bad after all...
