It was a rainy day in Chicago. Not unusual during this time of year. I had been working my ass off all day in the Labor & Delivery ward. I was just ready to go home. The clock was moving as slow as it could possibly go. I had only 2 more hours in this shift. 2. More. Hours.

"Dr. Hawkins? We have a mother wondering when her child will be back from testing? The mother is Cassandra Sheard. Just had a beautiful baby girl yesterday." Dr. Brown asked me.

"Hey, her baby wasn't supposed to go to testing until 7. We're backed up." I said. I drank some of my tea and looked at her chart.

"Yeah... nobody's taken her yet." I looked up in realization.

"Call a code pink right now." I said.
