Weeks pass and Spencer has become... in the nicest way possible, a jerk like a big one. The once sweet boy that Jasmine knew had turned into another simple douchebag. Well to everyone except Jasmine.

"Jas, I'm telling you he's not the perfect guy you think he is." Brittney stated getting her books out her locker.

"I never said he was perfect, only that he could kidnap me,put me in a basement, and I wouldn't be particularly upset."

"You're a lost cause huh?" Britt questioned.

"When it comes to him? Yeah."

The two girl walked to their home room and started on work from other classes. A chair was pulled out next to them.

"Hey Jasmine! Brittney." He stated almost as if he was using two different personalities with each name.

"Hi Spencer, how's your day been?" Jasmine questioned.

"Actually it's been alright."

"That's great!"

"Yeah,it is."

"My days been good too lovebirds." Britt said annoyed with the friend and foe sat in front of her.

"Mrs.Adams just assigned this big packet though."

"That sounds like her. Maybe we can meet up later and work on it? There's this cafe of Royal and 34th street."

"Yeah! That would be great. Is say....3:20 good for you?"

"Yeah, that's good I'll see you there later today. It's called "the steamin cafe".

"Cool."he replied

"Cool." She copied

"Cool."

"Cool."

"Cool."

"Ok we get it. It's "cool". Are you done now?" Brittney said, rolling her eyes.

"Cool." Jasmine whispered under her breath.

Brittney groaned in annoyance.

As Jasmine sat at a table in the back she watched as Spencer walked in and searched for her. The smile he gave when she caught his eye made butterflies erupt in her stomach.

"Hey, Jazzy!" He greeted eagerly.

"Jazzy?" She replied.

"Yeah, it's my new nickname for you. Do you wanna get some snacks before we start?."

"Uhm... sure, yeah. We can do that."

This became their new routine. Going to the cafe after school, grabbing snacks, talking, and getting very little work done. It was the same thing everyday. Jasmine liked that. The routine. It made her feel safe. Too bad her safety isn't something people take into account.

Soon Spencer started ditching. Saying he had to work or help out at home. Any excuse he could use he did. But eventually he didn't even bother with excuses.

"Hey Spence, are you still coming to the cafe today?"

"No."

Over and over again. It was "no." Jasmine was hurt. Not just because her routine was messed up. No, that's not as important. She was hurt because she cared. She cared about Spencer and she cared about spending time with him. The fact that he didn't want to spend time with her tore her up inside. Brittney tried to cheer her up but Jasmine didn't want that. She wanted to feel that pain. That betrayal. She needed it. She craved it.
