It's a warm spring night.
We can hear the breeze ruffling the leaves and a woman's scream coming from one of the houses in a tree trunk in the forest village called Heartvein.
Moon, a white-haired woman in her 20s, and in an off-white nightgown is giving birth. Her older sister, Blossom, is helping her.
The pain is unbearable. Bed and Moon's clothes are covered in her blood, she is screaming and pushing. Blossom is reminding her to breathe regularly.
Young Taggas, a ginger-haired man with strong facial features, is impatiently waiting outside on a bench, and his mind goes crazy, all these thoughts about him being a father soon are strong and go back and forth to remind him of his priorities and responsibilities.
He hears the screams, and he is worried for his love. He even knocks on a door every now and then to be sure everything goes as should.
Taggas is sitting with his head in his hands when the scream falls silent and changes into a baby's cry. He notices and goes immediately to knock but the door opens before he did. Blossom is telling him to come in.
He walks in and sees Moon exhausted lying in a bed with a happy package in her arms. They look at each other and Moon approaches him to sit and hold his daughter for the first time.
His seeing and holding her brought so much joy, she filled his emptiness, and she healed his heart and soul immediately. She is the last piece that he was missing.
Moon is looking at her baby girl like she sees a treasure. Love on a first glance is what is called.
She carefully asks Taggas about their baby's name, „Lily" he said without hesitation and with confidence. Moon smiles, she can't imagine a more suitable name for their baby girl.
Flame, a brown-haired, Moon's younger brother, a good-looking guy with green bright eyes, opens the door.
We can see and hear screaming people burning and running outside. He is sorry to interrupt a beautiful and of course a VERY long moment but there is a raid going on right now in the village and he hopes that they will hurry up a bit.
Blossom takes Lily and covers her up a bit with some clothes. Flame helps Moon to stand up and Taggas runs out of the house to see the situation outside.
Taggas can't believe his own eyes. Burning arrows are setting houses on fire, lucky it hadn't hit their house while they were still in there.
Men from a village are fighting against the royal guard with some ordinary swords or exes, royal guards have horses, bows, arrows and swords from the highest quality steel. It's not an equal fight.
Moon is dressing up from the nightgown to some pants and an ordinary blouse. Meanwhile, Blossom is holding Lily and Flame asks if he can also hold her. She agrees and gives her to him. She is so small and cute, he thinks while smiling at her.
Moon asks Flame if she can take her and so Flame has no other option than to give her back to her.
Taggas is fighting with a soldier with an axe he found stuck in someone's body. „We have to run!" He said, worried about Moon's and Lily's safety.
Flame, Blossom, Taggas and Moon with Lily are running into the woods in front of a group of soldiers.
They are shooting fire and non-fire arrows at them. „Kill these monsters!" Soldiers are yelling.
Flame is running but he is shot in his calf and falls to the ground. Blossom stops to help him. Soldiers are close.
So close.
Moon stops and she is looking at what happened, she sees Flame bleeding, and Blossom having a hard time lifting him up.
Soldiers are getting closer and closer.
„Take her and run away from here as far and fast as you can." Moon says to Taggas and hands him, Lily.
Taggas does not agree with this but Moon keeps telling him that everything is going to be fine and she promises him that they will live the best life in the mountains as he always wanted to with their daughter.
Moon kisses Lily's forehead and runs towards the guard of soldiers.
Taggas is still standing there, he does not want to leave without her. Lily feels his emotions running and she starts crying. Taggas is calming her down.
Moon's eyes turn white, and she focuses her magic power on running soldiers, strong unbreakable roots are coming out of the ground, breaking the land. Roots hold onto soldiers' legs and hands and slowly go on their chests up to their heads.
Moon is having a hard time breathing at this point, she is exhausted after childbirth, running and now from the magic use, but she collects her last strength and she cracks their necks with her magic roots.
Moon falls to the ground, exhausted. Her heart is pounding so fast, she can't catch a breath and she has a hard time seeing.
At this point, everybody should be dead. Taggas is about to walk up to Moon and help but right in front of his eyes some soldier who accidentally did not die, took a bow and his last arrow to shoot Moon right into her heart.
Taggas sees it.
His eyes go blurry, his heart is pounding loudly and his hearing is muffled. His heart just broke and he lost a big piece of his soul. After some seconds his vision goes back and he sees Flame hysterically crying over Moon's dead body and Blossom looking at him with tears in her eyes.
The truth hits him.
Moon is dead.
Now he has only two options, first is that he will stay to help them to take care of Moon or, he will run away like a coward and selfishly leave.
Blossom waiting for him to decide.
Taggas's eyes turn black, he takes a deep breath. He looks at Lily, sleeping in his arms and he enchants a black smoke and disappears.
