Alex examines the rope that binds her hands together. She fights against the ropes in an attempt to free herself. She turned to face Danny, who was unconscious and bloody on the floor. Alex took Danny and his mom to hide behind the house when she attacked.2 hours before—
Dean finished the salt circle before stepping inside himself. "Whatever's outside, it can't get in this circle. As long as the salt line is unbroken, this is the safest place to be" Dean explained "safe from ghosts." Brian laughed.
"Yes, as a matter of fact," Dean grinned.
"Okay. I'm not listening to this anymore. Come on. I got to get my family out of here. Let's go" Brian says, grabbing his family's hands and leading them to the door. Dean steps in front of them "Nobody's going anywhere until we kill this thing" Dean barked.
"Sir, please. This is what we do. Just...trust us" Sam attempted to diffuse the situation. Danny approaches Alex and asks, "You hunt ghosts?"
"Oh we hunt more than ghosts," Alex replied "Like Scooby-Doo," the boy smiled.Alex couldn't help but smile back at the adorable freckled boy in front of her. She hadn't realized it before, but she and Danny were quite close. Dean took notice of this and approached both of them.
"Absolutely not," Dean responds sternly before softly but successfully grabbing Danny by the shoulder and pulling him back, creating space between the kid and his sister. Alex glared at Dean and he returned it with a sarcastic smile.
Sam walks up to his siblings, separating them from the rest of the family."You guys want to babysit? While I check out the attic" Sam suggests "By yourself" Alex questions. Sam gave her a look. "Right, your not a stinky twelve year old any more"
Ted walks over to the siblings "Look maybe something is going on here, but"
"It's a spirit, you arrogant dick" Alex interrupts him. "No, it's just some backwoods hillbilly bitch, and I'm not about to sit around here waiting for her to go all Deliverance on my ass" Ted argued as he approached Alex a little too aggressively for Dean's liking.
Dean quickly stepped in front of Alex protectively "Well, nobody's leaving the house" Dean yelled. "Stop me" Ted threatened attempting to walk towards the door. Dean aggressively grabs Ted by the arm.
"Listen, man. I've got a gun. You don't get your ass back in that circle, you're gonna have yourself a third hole" Dean threatenedTed stared up at Dean, a fearful expression on his face. Dean releases him, and Ted returns to the circle with his family.
Once Ted was out of ear shot Sam whispered "Dude, you don't have a gun"
"Great job detective" Alex sassed.
Sam gave his sister his signature bitch face. "And? I'm not letting that bastard or anyone else die tonight" Dean says. "Alright I'll be back" Sam says as he walks out of the room.
Alex stood there watching as the guy who used to be so little walked away. She used to use Sam as an armrest, but she couldn't even reach his head anymore.
"What have you been feeding that kid?" Alex asks Dean.
Dean chuckled as he and Alex walked back towards the salt circle. "Hey. Fonzie. Question for you. This indestructible force field made out of salt... Have to be kosher stuff, or what?" Ted laughed.
A noise fills the room, making everyone silent. Dean leads Alex into the salt circle. "What was that?" Kate speaks in a hushed whisper. The door in front of them creaks open. The ghost slowly emerges and approaches them.
