A KNOCK ON THE DOOR was all somebody needed to know that someone was there, but a call for them was something better, something to indicate who exactly was at the love estate.
iguro obanai, back again.
the love estate belonged to the one and only, mitsuri kanroji, the love hashira of the demon slayer corps. she was famous for a couple reasons─ some good yet bad. her infamous but unique hair, taken after eating a bit too much sakura mochi, the female uniform she was wearing that every female but her refused to wear, the fact that both obanai and her were in love with eachother but quickly got over after the serpent pillar had claimed to be in love with another person─ which was (y/n), of course.
but that was the problem. something people wanted to know but didn't have an answer to, something that was making it's way back again with the rumours again. the love that once bloomed inbetween kanroji and iguro.
how did it start, and what actually caused it to end?

once upon a time, the love pillar and serpent pillar both had an oblivious crush on eachother. as most hashiras, like uzui and sanemi described it, obanai was a total simp for mitsuri.
the green, striped socks that mitsuri wore? the fact that she was so bubbly and extroverted instead of being insecure of herself? the amount of gifts she had kept in her spare rooms? all because of obanai.
he loved and held her closely towards his heart, and so did she, yet none of them knew their fond liking for eachother.
perhaps it was the fact that sanemi was a bit too blunt and pushing obanai further towards confessing? or was it uzui who tried to 'steal' mitsuri off of him to try get the cold-hearted pillar to confess? nobody knew but obanai himself...
the feeling in which he felt with kanroji, may as well have been a sign that she was the perfect other half to him. or was it the feeling of him passing it off and continuing to find the right person..? and again, nobody knew but iguro obanai himself.
...if only he hadn't confessed to mitsuri under the specific wisteria tree, would he have not seen her who came into his life?
if only he hadn't grown a fond feeling of curiosity towards her, would it be that kanroji and obanai would still be together instead of the (h/c)-haired girl whom he now loved very much?
if only she hadn't joined the demon slayer corps, would she have not discovered the serpent pillar, as well as the feelings that eventually bloomed inbetween the two now?
nobody knew. nobody knew the answer to these questions.
