Chapter 13~ Things have just began

*Jessica's POV*

Only one thought kept running through my head as I ran as fast as my legs could take me into my new workplace.

I didn't care if people were looking at me like a crazy woman, I would be a lot more crazy if I lost my job. Mr. Deino wanted that to happen, at least I couldn't make it that easy.

I finally got in and greeted the receptionist. It was a new person on duty and I didn't know this person, nor was I ready to waste my time. I asked where the secretary's department would be and she directed me.

I wanted to go greet Mrs. Deino first but I was going to be late. I was glad that as soon as I went to the elevator it was empty. Punched into my floor and watched the door close slowly.

I was glad I was all alone, I could do my pet talk and prepare myself for the worst. Mr. Deino scared me.

"Jessica Damien, you are smart, you are beautiful, you are elegant, you can do whatever you put your mind to do. No one is going to put you down or treat you like shit, because you aren't. And lastly, I am..."

"Congratulations..." A crowd cried.

I opened my eyes and saw that I had reached my floor and the door had been open since, for how long, I don't know. What I knew was I just embarrassed myself on the first day.

I adjusted my hair and clothes, which were a short black skirt and a red chiffon shirt with a V-neckline. Black stiletto heels and a black bag to match.

"Sorry if we scared you." I recognized Mrs James.

"Congratulations on your employment at VENCENZO ENTERPRISE." Mrs James said and they all applauded me.

How they knew me was what didn't settle well. I just hope they didn't see the CCTV footage of me running like a psycho.

"Everyone in this department already saw you as soon as Mrs Idams told us all someone beat the new record. And the boss himself announced you coming. We are glad you are 30 minutes earlier, you could have been fired according to the instructions he gave me." Mrs James finished up.

I'm glad I made it 30 minutes earlier. I wasn't able to keep my one hour before time, but I'm glad 30 minutes before time saved my ass.

I looked around and did a little head count. They were twenty-five in number, plus the head secretary.

"Thank you all so much. I hope we get along well. And please do help put me through with the hard stuff." I said with a little bow. They all smiled and echoed an "Okay"

"That's your cabin. You may introduce yourself to them personally later and they do the same. Rest and settle down before the boss arrives." She said with a smile and dismissed everyone.

I moved quickly to my cabin. The office environment was amazing. Ten times better than my last workplace. The view from the window was breathtaking, well-ventilated, and a lovely cabin with enough space for your stuff and a perfect dehydration area for when variety of beverages and snacks.

As I arranged my stuff and finally got to check out my new devices. I got a MacBook laptop and a 6th gen iPad. The HP desktop was already booted by Mark. He was my desk partner. He was very sweet and offered to help set up my desktop. I was told they were all restricted for strict work use and monitored by the company IT department. He helped me log into the company wifi and even added my cell phone to it.

I was excited at all the bonuses. He showed me where Mrs. James put all the important old files and the current ongoing production. He helped show me the boss schedule for today as already designed by Mrs. James. I will have to do the next one by tomorrow.
