" I am going to miss you, Tiana," Amy whined, hugging me. I smiled and enjoyed her embrace." You have my number," I whispered. She nodded and let me go." It is a better job opportunity, also my best friend lives over there," I explained. She crossed her arms and pouted. Los Angeles, here I come.
Several hours later, I was getting off the plane at Los Angeles airport. I got my bags and walked out, fresh air hit me as the doors opened. The sun beamed down on my brown skin, I could already feel myself about to sweat. I looked around for Brooke she was supposed to pick me up, I was going to stay with her till I found my place. I heard a beep and turned around, it wasn't Brooke though...it was Kai her brother. He looks different. Better. I smiled and walked towards the car. The trunk opened, and he exited the car, walking towards me.
" Let me do that," I nodded and he picked up my suitcase. He was wearing a tight black long-sleeve shirt, I could see his shape underneath. He also grew his hair out, it was in a bun." I haven't seen you since high school," I said trying to break the silence." Yeah, why did you move over here?" He closed the trunk and looked down at me." A job opportunity, " I answered." Oh, what job?" He asked, leaning on the car." A nurse at a better and busier hospital," He nodded and smiled." Oh wow, I'm a doctor and it seems we will be working together," He smiled. The way he looked at me, made me feel some way. I like that and his smile.
" Oh Brooke had a last-minute appointment, but by the time we get to her house she should be there," I nodded and for the first time, he looked away.
The car ride was silent, every time I peeked over at him he would look at me. I could feel the heat rise to my face. Why is it hotter in here than outside? We pulled up to Brooke's house and she ran outside. I jumped out of the car and she ran towards me, hugging me." I've missed you," she exclaimed," let us get you settled in,". I nodded and turned around. Kai already had some of my things in his hands. I thanked him and we headed inside. In a week I will start my new job, one week.
