" I am so exhausted," I yawned, stretching my body." You have to get back on schedule," Brooke laughed, fixing coffee. There has not been a time without Brooke there. A knock was at the door and I quickly hopped off the counter. Kai entered and his eyes immediately settled on me." What's up," Brooke said. He nodded still looking at me. I mean he has seen me and Brooke half naked but that's when we were younger. I have grown and fully matured, with tattoos and piercings. I had a shirt on with no pants." Good Morning Tiana," He dragged my name, smiling.

Is he teasing me? I like that. I grinned and fixed me a cup of coffee. Brooke is a dentist, it seems we all ended up in the medical field." I came for you Tiana, for you to get a head start," I felt embarrassed that I wasn't already dressed and ready. I sat my mug down and rushed upstairs quickly getting dressed. I fixed my lunch and dinner then did my hair and makeup." See you later Brooks," I yelled, rushing out the door. It was awkward, the ride to the hospital. I never spent much time alone with Kai till now.

When we got out of the car, I looked at the hospital amazed. My last one doesn't compare at all. I walked inside and got situated. I got my badge and everything I needed for my career at this hospital. I was introduced and then put to work immediately, my last job was not this but at the same time, this is a big deal hospital. I was on the code team, it's not the best job on the first day. It is only hitting lunch and I have already lost 7 patients. I sat outside, not many people were out and the sun was booming.

I rearranged my claw clip and sipped on my juice." It is a nice day out huh?" I turned around and it was Kai. I nodded and smiled." How is it?" He asked." Chaotic," I laughed, looking up at the sky. I glanced at him; the sun made him look even more majestic. His hair was tied back into a bun." I haven't seen you," I wanted to see him. He stared at me and shrugged his shoulders." I had been in surgery with a kid that had a tumor," I grabbed his hand out of sympathy. He stared at my hand then me." Sorry," I quickly said taking my hand back." It is fine," He smiled. I laughed it off and continued drinking my juice. I get with him alone and make it awkward. He didn't like to be touched in high school. His pager went off and he left, I wished he stayed and stared at me more. I need to get out and have sex before I jump on him. My last relationship was good at sex but not the relationship, it's a pity.

I watched as the sun went down through the big windows in the front. My feet hurt, my makeup smudged, and my hair was now in a ponytail." Rough day?" I looked over and it was another nurse, Sofia. She helped me while the others just left." Coffee?" She asked, I nodded and sipped on it." I wasn't in such a big establishment before," I mumbled." Yeah," she said.

" Leah," I turned around its Kai." Nurse Green now," I joked. He smiled," Give me 2 hours then we can go,". I nodded and he ran towards the elevators." And you guys are?" She questioned.

" He is my best friend brother, I have recently moved," I answered. She nodded and I saw her glare at me." Well see you later," I nodded and she walked away. I felt animosity towards me. Kai was done and wasn't on call tonight. It is dark now and I have had my first 12-hour shift. Kai dropped me off and I thanked him for the ride." 6 am sharp," I put up a thumbs up and he drove away. Brooke wasn't home, I checked my messages and she went to the store. I took a long shower, standing there for a minute. I lay in bed scrolling through social media, my eyes getting heavy, I didn't even eat.

" Ti," I heard. I woke up and Brooke was standing over me." Your alarm went off," she whispered then turned on my light. I covered my eyes, frustrated. I took a shower and got ready for work. I didn't even put on makeup or put my braids up." Good morning," Brooke said. I nodded and fixed some coffee. Kai knocked and then walked in." Tiana," I nodded and ate some toast." You look like you had no sleep," he laughed, sitting beside me." Well it was a hard time but I will be good," He nodded and stared at my lips.
