Chapter 50

Enzo's POV: 

"Enzo my sweet nephew. How have you been doing?" 

"I'm fine. What do you need Aunt Anna." 

"I need a break from my son, and I need him to learn some responsibility. Will you allow him to stay in your home and teach him?" 

"He won't have a need to learn my responsibilities, but he can learn from Nick I'm sure." 

"I want him to learn from you!" 

She's losing her cool. 

Pathetic. 

"He can stay here for a week max. He will be able to get to know my daughter, but that is all. He will not learn any Don responsibilities. He will have no use of them." 

I could tell she was trying to calm her voice. 

"Very well. We'll be there tomorrow. Oh and his friend will be joining him." 

"We hadn't disc-" 

"See you tomorrow Enzo." She said and hung up.  

Maybe I should get Mom and Dad to come back for awhile. 

And Nick. 

Have a full house for the next week. 

First I'll call my Mom. 

I should have everything lined up before I talk to Bay. 

I called Mom, she's rightfully worried. 

Chase is fucking sadistic. 

Like I found him throwing rocks at a nest of baby birds, it fell down, but he didn't stop until they were dead. 

They were dead before I could get to him and stop him. 

I won't let him do anything for the mafia right now. 

I don't really want him around Bay, but he is family...So it's ok...right? 

I just texted Nick what was going on and he said he'll be here tonight, so there isn't any time when it's just us and them. 

Nick is good at handling Chase. 

I'm having Max stay away for the next week as well. 

Now to talk to Bay. 

Hey Sweets, how're you doing tonight? I asked after walking into the art room. 

Good, look at my drawing! She said excitedly. 

That's amazing Sweets. 

"Hey guys can we have the room?" 

What's going on? Am I in trouble? She asked anxiously as the others filed out of the room. 

Not at all sweets, I just wanted to talk to you about something. 

OK? 

My younger cousin is coming to stay with us for a week. He's coming with a friend. 

You have a cousin? I've never had extended family before. 

We have a very big family, there just hasn't been a time where we can all get together yet. 

What are they like? 

Loud and obnoxious, but they're family and I'd do almost anything for most of them, but listen just be careful around him OK? I don't want you ever alone in a room with him. OK?

She nodded, but I think I accidentally got rid of her excitement and replaced it with fear. 

Grandma, Grandpa, and Nick are coming to stay with us as well. We'll all have a really good time. 

OK...Do they know Sign? 

They know a bit from school I think.

...Dad? 

Yeah? 

I'm kinda nervous. 

It'll be ok. I promise. 

Nick just got here and he immediately hugged Bay. 

And she just hugged him back. 

I have to say that made me a little jealous. 

I don't get many hugs from her. 

When I do they're usually in a panic or very short. 

Are you dating Ezra yet?  Nick stupidly asked. 

I've been on a date with him. 

Oh my gosh come tell me all about it. 

And off they went. 

Sometimes I feel like everyone has a better relationship with Bay then I do. 

I'll make more of an effort. 

I'll try to be...warmer. 

Nick's POV: 

Bay is telling me all about the date she had with Ezra, 

While he's RIGHT THERE!

He's blushing so much and Bay is just going on and on about what a great time it was. 

Can I text you a secret Nick?  She said glancing over at Ezra. 

Of course you can. 

Bay-I want to go on more dates with him, but he hasn't asked me on another. And I don't know why, but it makes me nervous thinking about asking him. 

Me- Kiddo I think he's head over heels for you. I have no doubt in my head he'll say yes. 

She gave me a smile. 

What was the secret? Ezra asked. 

You'll find out. She said. 

I haven't seen my niece in a few months. 

There's been so much work to do that I haven't had time to visit. 

We've texted every day at least a little. 

We video chat every now and then as well. 

I'm so fucking nervous for chase to be here. 

Bay is so innocent. 

I don't want him to ruin anything. 

Or make her feel insecure. 

She's started to feel more comfortable in short sleeves. 

And just overall more confident. 

I've heard the things that come out of that kids mouth. 

There isn't an empathy bone anywhere in his body. 

I'm just nervous.
