Stepping through the portal I feel lightness in my body. 'Another life finished...it was a lovely one this time I suppose' I think as my eyes meet hers.
"Lilith..." I whisper as I run up to hug her tightly "I missed you!!" I cry happily as I keep my tight grip on her. Lilith smiles as she pats my messy hair down returning my hug, "it's good to see you again...I've been eagerly waiting for you to tell you the good news" she says softly as she pushes me back to meet my eyes and fave.
I look at her confused but excited "Well...don't keep me waiting!". She grins and gestures to a table, "Sit down and I'll explain it all to you".
I take a seat that the elegant garden-style table and chairs, my palms feeling damp as I feel multiple emotions at once...that's the simple downside to being an empath I suppose. I watch as Lilith sits across from me with her beautiful chocolate skin and beautiful braided hair, I admire her...she is like a big sister and best friend wrapped into one.
"You know you're progressing rather quickly...the others are impressed at your work ethic and progression," she says as she conjured up some tea and tea cups. "Go on...I made your favorite" she says as she serves me and hands me a cup,
I take the cup and inhale the fresh scent of green tea with honey and ginseng, my eyes flickered in nostalgia as I happily sipped the tea. "You know me well Lil," I say as I give her a grin "Now tell me the good news!".
"Well...since you've been doing so well. We've decided to let you choose your next life...not only as a vacation of sorts but to also see how you fair without any assistance from us" she says semi-seriously as she puts down a cup. "I will warn you about a few things before you decide a thing," she says as she takes my hand softly.
I nod slowly as I take in her words carefully. "Alright then...when you choose the world you wish to visit you maybe only live once there until the day you die...how you die is not up to us this time." She states as her grip on my hand tightens slightly. "You are allowed to enter the world how you want...you can be born or you can be a certain age and show up wherever you please. But after that, you are to survive on your own with no help from us at all". She sighs and pauses as she lets go of my hand, I look at her concerned as she stands up.
"I'm allowed a few visits to check in but I'm not allowed to interfere at all" she says softly and sadly as she keeps her gaze away from me. "Lilith...do you want me to go? I won't go if you don't want me to.." I ask as I look at her concerned.
She gives only a small sad chuckle, "I'm sorry..I can't tell you what to do or what I think...but I'll support you no matter what" she replied as she wipes a stray tear from her cheek. "Let's continue ok?" She says as she looks at me with glassy eyes and a small smile, "I want you to be informed before you choose".
I nod and eagerly sit her down, she continues "You will still be given your powers and a few rules to make sure things aren't too out of balanced. It's your decision whether you keep them secret or not. And you can pick out your traits and abilities within reason as well."
She finishes her statement and looks into my eyes. I sigh and rub my forehead taking in the information slowly, "So let me get this straight... I get to choose ANY world and also pick my form/ destiny." I ask as I put my hand down.
She nods as she grabs my hand again. I give a small smile as I squeeze softly, I take a deep breath.
"I know where I want to go...can I have a pen and paper?" I ask.
"of course" she answered conjuring up the paper and a gold pen. I take both items and began to write down everything, from my new name to my looks to my abilities such as speed, flexibility, and intelligence. I also requested to be bilingual in English and Japanese, handing her the paper she raises a brow at the bilingual part.
"where exactly are you going?" she asks while going over the paper. "I wish to be in the world of demon slayer... I read it before in a previous life and I want to join in the fight and see if I can save a few of my favorite characters" I say confidently as I stand up. "I'd like to enter the world at the age of 18, please" I ask with a sparkle in my eyes.
She giggles at my childish antics, "I will...ill be sure to visit but remember I cannot help you" she says softly as a warm light surrounds me.
