Chris POV
"I know you're nervous about telling the rest of the team about the baby. But kinda have to at some point. You did already give Annie the envelope of the babies gender for a gender reveal." Jim said
"I know. I know we have to tell them. I want it to be right." I said
"What if we do it at the barbecue today? Annie already knows. We can set it up for then." Street said "And we could even do the gender reveal right then and there too."
"Kill two birds with one stone." I said "Will you have Annie set it up?"
"Of course love." Street said "Just so you know. I can't wait to meet our baby. Whatever the gender is."
"Me too. Although I think its a girl." I said
Street laughed and walked away to call Annie.
Time Skip
The Kay Household
The annual team barbecue was being held at the Kay household this time. Usually it's either at Hondos or Deacons place.
"Street. I'm nervous for this." I said
"Love. I'm not going to lie. Me too." He said "However. It'll be okay."
"Hey! Chris! Street! How are you guys?" Annie asked when we walked into the house
"Good. Thank you Annie." Street said "Everything set?"
"Yep. Everything's ready. It's in the cake. I figured simple. Seeing as you didn't give me much more than the cake." Annie said laughing softly enough so the team doesn't hear
"It's perfect. Thank you." Street said
"How are you feeling?" Annie asked me
"Tired. Nervous for the reveal." I said truthfully
"Hey! Hey! Hey! Chris and Street! What's up guys?" Luca said cutting the conversation short
"Hey man." Street said
"Missed you last night bro. It was awesome." Luca said
"I know. I'm sorry. I spent the night at Chris's place. I texted you." He said
"I know. I know. It's still a little bit crazy. You two. Eh! Go have fun! Annie said she got a cake. Wouldn't let me see it. But it's a cake!" Luca said
Little did he know what was actually in the cake.
As the party went on and we ate dinner and everything else. It all went smoothly.
Listening to Tan and Street talking about something I lean into Street. When Tan looks away I tilted my head to Street.
"Is it time?" I whisperered to Street
"Can't think of a better moment." Street said
"Alright everyone! Chris and I have an announcement." Street said gathering everyone's attention.
In this moment it officially became real. Won't be living in denial much longer once this is out there and in the open.
"Chris and I are going to have a baby." Street said
It was an immediate eruption of joy and happiness from the entire team. They all went up to us with hugs and congratulations.
"A SWAT baby!" Luca cheered
"Well. We have something else to announce too." I said "There's another reason why we did this today."
"That cake Luca you were talking about that Annie had. It actually is our gender reveal cake." Street said
"That's great!" Deacon said "I'll go grab it."
Deacon went to grab the cake and the rest of us were continuing to talk about the idea of a SWAT baby. If it would be a boy or a girl.
"So. Insides either blue or pink?" Tan confirmed
Deacon confirmed for him and then handed Street the cake and the knives to cut the cake.
"You ready?" Hondo asked us
"Oh of course." Street said
"Let's do it." I said
Street cut the cake. He looked and a giant smile with his stupid dimples spread across his face.
"It's a girl!" Street exclaimed holding up the pink cake
The guys again were all super excited. Suddenly talking about how this baby is going to be super good cute and have excellent genes.
"It's a girl." Street said to me pulling me in for a hug
"It's a girl." I said giving him a kiss
