"Now Maisie listen to me

alright I-"

"Don't talk to me!", Maisie snapped back

"Just get me home."

" Maisie", Wu started, "Listen to me. I need you to-"

"What you need is to take me home to my FAMILY!"

"What family, Maisie?", Wu said with a bit more annoyance in his voice.

" Well, I have Owen and Clair-"

"Oh save it Maisie. You're a teenager. You're a smart girl, so we both know they aren't your family. Did they even legally adopt you?"

"Well, yeah of course they did, they-"

"Why do you think you live in the middle of the woods? In a tiny log cabin? You have to chop wood for heat. You don't have a heater or even any real electricity at that. You have to hide from everyone so they don't find out, not just about your adoption status, but also...how you were made."

It took a moment for Maisie to understand what Wu meant, but then she knew.

"But why would anyone care about my genetic makeup? I'm just a regular teena-"

"You're not just a regular teen. To companies that know about you you're a technological marvel! Or at least Biosyn thinks so" Wu said matter-of-factly.

"What's your point? You're just gonna keep me in here and experiment on me!?"

"Well...pretty much yeah."

Maisie felt nauseous after a moment, her eyelids slowly drooping as her legs swayed on the lab floor for a moment and then dropped to the ground.

"Finally, the sedative kicked in. That took longer than I thought it would"

"Do you plan on waking up today, Ripper?"

Ripper's eyes opened suddenly, only to see Blue's snout right above his face...

...again.

Ripper shot up to his feet, wondering why Blue did this the second time in a row (and what he was gonna have for breakfast that morning).

"Blue you gotta stop staring right at me while I'm sleeping. I don't wanna see your face every morning."

"Why? What's wrong with my face? "

Ripper just stared at her as if she was the ugliest thing he's ever seen in his life.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with her face, quite the opposite actually, Ripper thought, I just wanna make her think there is.

Ripper turned away and walked to Owen, where he was making what seemed to be the exact same thing as yesterday, but Ripper didn't mind as it didn't taste that bad.

But it was still bad.

As Ripper feasts on the poorly made food, he can't help but gaze at Blue's face, her features illuminated by the rising sun in a way Ripper couldn't describe.

Why did he feel like this? He hated her, he despised her, he...supposed she wasn't that bad (in terms of how she looked).

Blue's amber eyes then flicker to Ripper, and Ripper quickly looks away,
focusing on anything other than Blue, instead focusing on the flavor in whatever mush he was eating, though he didn't have much to go off of, so he instead excuses himself before getting up from his spot in the grass, mumbling something about needing fresh air as he walks away, and before they can question his need for air since they are already outside Ripper walks deeper into the forest, drowning out what the humans were saying.

After a few moments of venturing in the forest Ripper finds a serene area, his surroundings filled with the sound of birds chirping and a river flowing slowly nearby, and he lays in a good patch of grass, taking in the gentle breeze that almost tickled his scales, the beautiful sound of the birds, and the soft splashes of water from the river beside him.

"Hey, what's wrong?" a raptor with a voice unfamiliar to Ripper chirps, and he jumps back, almost falling into the river but saving himself just in time, the tip of his tail making contact with the river as he quickly regains his composure on solid ground, looking at this new raptor for the first time.I

In front of Ripper stood a raptor about the same size as Blue, her scales brilliant hues of green and blue, with touches of bright red and her golden eyes almost glowed, quills with yellow tips running down her back, her appearance surprising to Ripper, being used to raptors–and all dinosaurs he met–being dull, dark, or gloomy colors.

The strange raptor takes a step closer, concern etched on her face.

"Are you alright? I didn't mean to scare you." The raptor says apologetically.

"It's alright." Ripper mumbles, having no idea what to do or say next. "Uhm, who are you?"

"Oh, right! I'm Omega!" The raptor says happily, a smile forming on Omega's face as if she was overjoyed to tell Ripper her name.

"My name's Ripper," he replies, a bit taken aback by Omega's cheerfulness, not used to such happiness and joy around him.

"Sorry, I...have to go. ." Ripper mutters before quickly walking away, unaware of Omega following him from a few feet away as he returns to the humans and Blue, sitting down with them as he thinks about what had just happened.

Hey! I know it's been a pretty long time since I've updated this book, but motivation or even ideas were hard for me to come by, but I think I can continue writing this book(maybe;) Also, if you could, I would really appreciate it if you could give me some feedback on introducing Omega into this story. I wanted to make a new character, and I think I'll go with this, at least for right now, but I want to hear your opinion, and if you don't maybe I'll remove Omega from the story, but I'm not sure yet! :)
