<Sapphire Kingdom>
Saki knocked on the first door she ran into of the Sapphire Kingdom's village. It was raining pretty hard so she was shivering as she continued knocking. Finally, the door opened, revealing a short brown haired pale girl with brown eyes. She seemed like she was heading for bed, since she had a nightgown on, but it was completely covered in different colors of paint."Hello?" the girl spoke. Saki was trying to figure out how to reply. She could tell the girl was getting impatient quickly.
"I-I'm sorry! Is this the Light Kingdom?" Saki finally asked.
"No, I'm sorry. This is the Sapphire Kingdom actually."
"W-What? Awwwh...okay. Thank you though." Saki was about to leave, turning around before the girl told her to wait.
"Huh?"
"It's raining pretty hard and the Light Kingdom is pretty far from here. Stay here until morning and when the rain calms down, or else you'll catch a cold!" the girl stood on the side of the door, allowing Saki to come in.
Saki beamed at her before bowing. "T-Thank you!"
She quickly walked in and admired how big the house was. "Hmm, I love your house! The balcony should of been a sign...!"
"Hehe, thank you! Don't mind the mess..."
Saki smiled as she watched the girl pick up some art supplies off the floor. She wanted to ask about it, but was too nervous.
"I have a guest room you can sleep in. I hope it can help make yourself at home."
Saki smiled. "Thank you...uh...I never got your name."
"Ena Shinonome."
Familiar, thought Saki. "I'm Saki Tenma! Thank you, Ms. Shinonome!"
"Aha, no need for the 'Ms.', just call me Ena! Ms. Shinonome sounds too mature..." Ena laughed nervously.
"Oh okay, thank you Ena!" Saki beamed.
The girls talked for a few hours, while Ena made Saki something to eat.
"You didn't have to!" Saki smiled.
"I don't know how long you traveled! You could be hungry. Also, here. A blanket. You're probably still cold."
Saki took the blanket from Ena and wrapped it around her.
"Why were you going to the Light Kingdom anyway? You don't look like you're from there..." Ena asked.
"Oh...uhm...I actually live in the Dark Kingdom. But I ran away because of separation issues and my brother lives in the Light Kingdom. I wanted to see him," Saki frowned. Ena rubbed her back for support. "Turns out I got lost! Quickly."
"I'm sorry. Maybe I can help you? I know someone at the Light Kingdom. Sapphire Kingdom and the Light Kingdom aren't really enemies so going there isn't much of a problem. Though...I'm not really allowed to travel..."
"I don't want you to do something you don't want to do for me! I appreciate it, but you getting in trouble—"
"Traveling isn't much of a big deal. I want to travel and this is one way I can. Being separated from your sibling is a big thing too..." As Ena said that, she immediately thought of Akito, but quickly brushed it off. "So, let me help you!"
"You're so nice! Oh god, I want to repay you..." Saki smiled brightly, almost crying.
"No need!" Ena bragged, "Just stay here. We'll think of something in the morning."
"Do you live alone?"
Ena shook her head. "No. My personal knight lives here. I'm sure she won't mind you though, she's energetic about anything."
"Okay," Saki nodded.
"One of the Light Kingdom's knights sometimes come here too...I wonder where they are. They haven't showed up today?"
"W-What?!" Saki gasped.
Just then, they heard a faint voice near the balcony.
"That's probably them. Gosh, they are so ignorant! Why come this late?! They were supposed to come earlier!" Ena pouted, heading towards her balcony.
"Mizuki! Go away!"
"That's not nice! I thought you would be happy to see me!" Mizuki pouted, climbing the tree to get closer to Ena. Ena thought that they were actually upset, but as they got closer, she saw a sly smile on their face.
"Gosh, you're so annoying..."
"Sorry that I was late. The princess apparently got a letter and Akito was all gloomy about it because it was from our enemies, so he forbid me from leaving, even though it's not his job to do that," Mizuki laughed. "But I'm here!"
"Jeez. My brother is so lame."
"Who's that?." Mizuki glared at Saki. "Why is she here? Aren't you from—"
"H-Hi! I'm sorry, I...uhm..."
"Hm? Are you still in war with the damn Dark Kingdom?! Oh come on! This has been going on for how long?! Don't attack Saki!" Ena went in front of Saki quickly.
"It's literally my job," Mizuki sighed.
"But you're not in duty right now! Let her explain!"
"Five minutes."
"Mizuki, come on."
"Ten."
"No minutes at all!" Ena gave an annoyed look.
"An hour," Mizuki teased, earning a groan from Ena. Saki chuckled as the two argued.
"Okay okay, why is she here?" Mizuki glared at Saki again.
"I-I wanted to go to the Light Kingdom to see my brother..." Saki looked down.
"Doubtful."
"I don't know what else to say. I ran away," Saki smiled faintly.
"Wait, you ran away?" Mizuki's eyes widened.
Saki looked down. "Look, the Dark Kingdom is nice, but not to my liking. I thought that maybe if I reunite with my brother, they could see that one of their members care about the Light Kingdom a little, and we could calm down our wars a bit. But something in me thinks that they aren't thinking in the positive side. They probably don't believe that I ran away."
Saki sighed, catching her breath. "Sorry for trespassing."
"This isn't my property, I understand," Mizuki laughed, ruffling Saki's hair. Saki gave them a surprised expression.
"Oh finally...two of the dreading enemies can get along," Ena said in shame.
"Spare me your pity," Mizuki muttered.
"Mx. Akiyama, I promise that if my plan succeeds, it'll be worth it! I just have to try. I don't want this to end badly, I've always wanted the best for our kingdoms!" Saki began to express how she truly feel, leaving Mizuki in a sympathetic situation. They knew that they could relate to Saki, they felt the same way. Helping would get them in big trouble though. But if the plan did work, it would end everything.
"Ugh..." Mizuki mumbled, looking down. Ena lowered her head, trying to see Mizuki's expression. Mizuki looked back up, making their decision.
"I'll help."
