Birthday Present Chap.10

Two Months later....

It was the Afternoon of your twenty first birthday, and just the other day you told Baizhu about your birthday coming up which made him propose to take you out for dinner, you were taken by surprise by him asking but you tried to not think too deeply about It. Baizhu asked If he could take you out as It was your birthday but also to thank you for helping him at the Pharmacy.

It was nearing the time you were supposed to meet up with Baizhu, so you went to freshen up and change clothes Into something nicer than usual, which he did give you the option to dress up if you liked so you decided to go ahead as you didn't usually dress up that often

so you looked through your closet as you then found the dress, It was one that your Mother had given to you it wasn't too old but It was a little out of fashion, that didn't stop you though as you went behind the dressing screen to change Into the dress, It was blue with some white

you then slipped the white second layer over top of It, then looking In the mirror at yourself finding the dress to be very pretty, you smiled as you then combed through your hair to put It half up and half down as you then went to slip on your shoes, just as Chongyun came in 

"Oh wow, you look pretty Elder sister"

you smiled, "Thank you Chongyun, I'll be gone for a bit will you be alright?"

"Of course, I can take care of myself just go enjoy your birthday evening"

Chongyun gave you a hug before you headed out the house, and you made your way to Feiyun Slope where you'd be meeting up with Baizhu. and after you arrived you looked around for him

you suddenly felt those butterflies return to your stomach, and your heart was quick too as you stood there waiting but then all of sudden you felt a hand on your shoulder. you turned to see Baizhu, he was dressed up a bit differently than usual but he looked very nice

A blush came to his cheek's, but he quickly hid it "You look beautiful,"

now It was your turn to blush, "Thank you, you look nice as well"

Baizhu chuckled, "why thank you, now shall we be off"

he offered his elbow to your surprise but you took It, as you headed off together through Feiyun slope as the night life was coming into full swing. just as you looked up to see the full moon

"Oh, the moon's full tonight"

Baizhu looked up, "Indeed It is, It's very lovely too"

just then you noticed that Changsheng wasn't with him, "where's Changsheng?"

"Oh, She decided to stay back tonight as she didn't want to be a...how did she put It? Third Wheel"

you looked to him, "Will you be alright? I mean...walking around with me like this"

Baizhu nodded, "Yes don't worry, I made sure to take plenty of my medicine before coming out so I won't have any issues"

"I see, that's good to hear" you said

Baizhu  then continued leading you through the streets until you came to Xinyue Kiosk, you hadn't been there before at all and as you went inside the both of you were greeted by Heli

"Welcome to Xinyue Kiosk, Oh you must be the famous Doctor Baizhu of Bubu Pharmacy"

"Indeed, I made a Reservation for today" he replied

Heli then gestured, "Please follow me this way"

you followed Heli to a spot In the restaurant where there was an open table for two, the both of you then sat down as you decided what to order together, you opted for the stir fried fish noodles while Baizhu ordered the Bamboo shoot soup for himself

you started, "Doctor Baizhu, Thank you so much for bringing me out"

Baizhu smiled, "but of course, It's your birthday after all and...you've done a lot for me"

"I wanted to do this for you but also thank you properly" he confessed

you smiled, "I appreciate the thanks but...you don't need to thank me, It's what I should do after all you do for everyone In Liyue"

Baizhu blushed, "you...everyone flatters me too much, this is just what I do"

he then felt his blush reach his ears, "I well...oh my, I've never been at a loss for words like this before but It seems...you bring that out of me"

your heartbeat quickened, just as Heli returned with your meal In which you soon enjoyed as you engaged In more conversation that didn't once get bored, through it all Baizhu kept checking to see if THAT was still in his pocket as he'd be giving It to you before the night ended.

After dinner Baizhu paid for the bill before you both walked together, taking In the night air

but then Baizhu touched his chest as he started coughing, and you came to his side

"Are you alright? is it flaring up again"

Baizhu shook his head, "It is, but...I hope this hasn't spoiled the evening"

you furrowed your brows, "Not at all, I've had a wonderful time"

Baizhu smiled as his eyes shined, "I'm glad...."

he then straightened up, and you supported him as you continued walking but once you came to the little bridge Baizhu stopped, he then stepped away from you a little

Baizhu smiled, "Happy Birthday (Y/n)"

you looked down at his hand to see him holding a hair stick, It was very beautiful silvery gold with some bluish green colored gems with a flower, It made you silently gasped

"Baizhu..."

he came closer and slid the stick into your hair, he then gazed down at you with many emotion's coming into his eyes as well as his heart, "It suits you..."

you blushed and reached up to touch It a little, "It's so...I couldn't take this"

Baizhu brought your hand into his own, "I insist"

a warm smile then came to your face as you stepped forward, hugging Baizhu as the action made his heart thrum away In his chest, his cheek's became pink but he quickly relaxed as he brought his arms around you in return and upon feeling his warmth your heart sang

"Thank you so much for tonight"

Baizhu smiled warmly, "You're welcome"

but as you parted from each other a little, you gazed into each other's eyes as you felt your heartbeat In your ear as Baizhu's eyes never left you, It made you start to shy away but Baizhu gently guided you to look back at him using his fingers. But then Baizhu started leaning in as he tilted his head a bit which made you slide your own eye's closed as he drew closer, you too started leaning in but then Baizhu realized what he was doing, so he broke away from you

you were In a daze as you brought a hand to your heart, "....."

Baizhu cleared his throat, "It's getting late, I wouldn't want to make your brother worry too much...I'll walk you home"

you turned to him and nodded In response, just as Baizhu brought a finger to run over his lips while on the inside he started to berate himself on his actions moments before.
