"I want to be true to myself."
"Hey, I have a story for you." Ayre smiled, floating above ■■■■■. They were doing their work at school, so they could not make it too obvious they were speaking to someone invisible to others.
'What is it?' ■■■■■ asked, not looking up from their work. Ayre grinned wider, standing near them.
"It's about the very first You!" He announced, seeming excited. "Did I ever tell you the Virgin Mary story?" Ayre asked.
'No.' ■■■■■ replied, finishing up the assignment to listen. However, they couldn't look at Ayre, obviously.
"Then lemme tell it to you!" Ayre settled in, excited to tell another story.
"Once upon a time when You were... six, I think? You were listening to your friends tell you about how to make babies. Sex and stuff. Back then, you reeeaally wanted to have babies! But you were grossed out by the idea of baby-making. So you proudly told everybody that you were going to just be given a baby from God, and be the next Virgin Mary." He giggled.
'...was I really so weird back then?' ■■■■■ asked, finally looking at Ayre.
Ayre nodded. "You've been weird in every iteration, you know. Like the second You always wore this black hat, till you got called an emo cuck!" He exclaimed.
'...I'm definitely not that.' ■■■■■ replied, looking back to their paper.
Ayre just grinned, shaking his head.
