"Nobody really loves themselves."
"Back again, then?" Spoke Ares, barely looking up from his book.
■■■■■ was silent. Of course they were back. It was either here or The Hallway."Make up your mind. Always switching where you go… don't you realize all that waits for you is pain?" Ares smiled slightly, finally looking up.
"Here, The Hallway, even in the real world. That's all there is to it." He sighed.
"Really, you should just rest again."■■■■■ shook their head. "No. They'd miss me." They answered.
"Is that true?" Asked Ares. "Or would they miss your… well, ability to please?"
Quiet at that, ■■■■■ didn't have an answer.
"That's how it was for all the others. You know that. Once you wear out your use, you'll be cast aside again. I'm not sure why you're trying to change the facts, but… it's quite entertaining." He shut his book.
"Please, continue making a fool of yourself. Hopefully the next You that comes along doesn't make the same mistake...."
■■■■■ frowned. "It's not a mistake."
"You know you're just stuck the way you are. There's no future for... things like you." Ares spoke, until ■■■■■ covered their ears and awoke.
They felt like they were going to burst. It was too loud. Far too loud. Everything was so, so loud...
They covered their ears with a pillow and sobbed, tiring themselves out to sleep once more.
